PSA failed Gen X global Barrel condom

I purchased A Gen X Global barrel condom from ANS 4 weeks ago. I've used it since on the field 3 days but just this last wednesday I had my first shot fired into it (Yeah, I was that guy, but a gust of wind must of hit my trigger ). Anyway, The ball went right through the cover and hit the ground. Luck i was just putting my gun down from chronoing it (it was at 280 +/- 5 FPS FWIW)

Has this happened to anyone else? The problem is that these didn't do what they were intended to do.

Since a lot of people are depending on this off the field as defacto safety, I'm trying to illicit a response from the manufacturer to recall these eye hazards. Has this happened to anyone else? The problem is that these didn't do what they were intended to do.

Should this be posted elsewhere?

I sent these guys an email, hoping to hear back from them. I have since replaced with an Exalt silicone cover.

I bought 3 of those same ones, but never had any issue. Yes they were shot into also...... like you said the wind hit my trigger.

Can you confirm if the ball actually went through the thick material sewn into the end?

It looks like the threading came undone from the outside thin material and the inside thick material, allowing your barrel to slide between the two.

The outside material is not rated to stop a PB. Still not a good thing, but nowhere near as horrific.

It seems like the inner liner was barely sewn to the outside material so with a few barrel insertions, the liner pulled away from the outer. Looking at it more closely, it seems like the stitching line almost completely missed the inner. Only used it 3 days. Maybe placed over a barrel 20 times.

Based on the prices of GXG items on ANS right now I would assume it is very old and possible dry rotted.

You sure it was on a paintball gun and not a real one?
