Absolutely the best camera for paintball as far as Im concerned. Nothing comes close in weight and size.

i just picked up a jvc adixxion at bestbuy for $129.99 on clearance. also picked up a ion pro 2 handle bar mount since they were out of the jvc mounts. just had to switch out the ball joints.

I've used a contour and the mount it has for masks works perfect on the gem/lock on the E-flex. Takes great video too.

I use a GoPro Hero 3+ Black. Really wanted a relay due to its form factor, but I scored a killer deal on the GoPro I just couldn't pass up - also it has many more features I use than it's competitors (in trade for it's size).

I'm happy with my choice, but I definitely still have an R7 on my wish list.

I am in the market for a paintball camera too.
From what ive researched ive narrowed it down to the contour2 or the sony actioncam.
The actioncam has a waterproof case that it comes with and still is a small camera. Unlike a gopro the lense is on the skinny part of the camera so the profile is smaller.

The contour is what i initially wanted but im afraid a paintball shot from up close might break it. I dont want to spend that money on a camera just to have it break.

The replay also looks promising, it has the smallest profild of the three mentioned and probably all that ive looked into. I havent had the chance to pick one up and the website says out of stock.
I am curious if the front is removable and is a "cap" to protect the lense. Also can you purchase extra fronts in case yours needs cleaning mid game?

Battery power for the sony is 3 hours and the contour is 2. Im unsure of the replay.

Any of youall with a replay mind sharing some pics of your camera setup? Id like to see how youve chosen to mount it and where at.

Also maybe you can.help answer some questions about it and being hit with a paintball. Thanks

Edit-
The video from the replay doeant seem to be as good of quality vs the other two mentioned. Maybe its the lighting, it just looks to me like its filmed from a cheaper camera. Im curious if the settings are the same or even.the specs.

If you really like the contour you can always make a lens protector for a few dollars in materials and a bit of labor.

There are other videos, but that gives a small idea of how to make different strong lens protectors for the contour.

Hey thats great. Is that the only part you think thatd be damaged by a paintball?
The lense?

Well the body is aluminum I believe, so I wouldn't worry that much personally. My friends have Contour's and they have never had a broken lense on a bare camera, but they haven't been hit from 2 feet away either, so a lens break is always possible and I think a protector there is a good idea.

The only other thing that might be vulnerable is the back of the camera, I believe the battery/sd card cover is plastic. And the on off switch at the top is plastic, but I wouldn't be too worried since I think you are prone to taking shots to the front and the side more than anything. And those two areas are probably the strongest.
