CU is a great school. I'm an alumni as well as an employee of CU. It's had it's up's and downs with the recent sports crap but other than that it's a VERY beautiful campus with mountains in your back yard.

As far as paintball, the best outdoor field in Colorado is located about 30 min East of Boulder. You also have an indoor field (APC) located in Denver which is about 30-40 min. away. To the South you have Paintball Adventures that is about an hour away.

I guess I should've asked this first... what type of paintball do you play? The answers I gave up above focus more on the tourney/speedball play.

The paintball scene here in CO isn't all that bad during the summer, spring, and fall.
But when winter rolls around it's really dead because all the indoors around are hella expensive, and there's too much snow to play outdoors.

Yea i play speedball/tourney...
The outdoor field is x-ball or something right not woodsball.
Basically enough paintball to keep me happy with good competition?

I've been to Aspen before and it seemed like there were buses though. I guess they were just local even though they were on highway?

If you're living in Boulder, your two best paintball locations will be Blitz and APC. I prefer Blitz but it's outdoor so as long as there is snow on the ground and the weather is below 40, there's not much going on there.

APC is a small 3-man indoor field. Cool place but a bit pricey at first. If you attend APC a bunch, Tony, the owner, will start to give you deals. After showing your face there for a while, you should be able to get a case and entry for around $50 (just make sure you get on his good side right off the bat. Be mature and respectful and he'll do the same to you. If you don't, you'll wish you'd never have gone there). He also lets you file paint so you all your unused paint can be used next time.

As far as transportation... these two locations aren't in mainstream areas so there's no public transportation that gets you close. APC is a bit better as it is in Denver's industry area but still, there's no direct shot to get there.

I hate to say this but, find some people who you can carpool with. I might be able to assist every now and then since I live in Boulder right now. However, this will all change in about 4 months though as I move to Louisville which is 15 min. east of Boulder.

Really, you should invest in one of these...

Don't worry... I won't tell anyone. You know the quote... "It's like a fat lady... you'll have fun riding it all night long but would never want to be caught doing it"

Oh, and another thing... before you can come to CU Boulder, you have to watch the CU Buffs bowl game tonight!!!

Yeah you'll be fine. With DA, the Shooters, and the YardDogs, you'll have plenty of high quality teams to play.

Not really. Most of the fields aren't in the city, so there's no subway or anything. Join a team, and make them take you, or make friends that will .

I go to boulder, its a great school. I gave up paintball this year so i could focus full time on college.

The paintball scene in colorado is weak (no offence) but I come from california which is the mecca of paintball. (within an hour from my house there were close to 10 fields i could play at) The fields i was playing in colorado are not even a quarter as good as cali fields. The best was colorado springs indoor but they closed down. PBA and Blitz have airball but their bunkers are from all different field kits and there is no solid xball or 7 man field.

in short, college > paintball, i dont miss paintball that much. the snowboarding in colorado makes up for the lack of paintball in my life

and if you dont have a car or dont know any paintballers to give you a ride, it will be close to impossible to get to fields.
