Reinvent the Impulse

I think Smart parts should reinvent the impulse. make it smaller, lighter, new milling, etc. I would personally buy it if it was up to tournament standards that we have today

what do you guys think

Ask Ydna for his noob renderings of his guns he thought of.

They looked pretty good to me. I would make a few myself, but I think I'd rather keep my job than be thrown out for drawing on the job.

i actually have a simple design for the impulse, a new one, it could probaly be close to an ego in speed, or even a new design reusing the pre exsisting parts but haha sp will never do it and i dont have the cash unless i buy a milling machine

Unlikely that they will. I remember we had a thread on this months ago. Our hopes were crushed when the SP guy said that SP wasn't going to bring it back. The problem is that it just turns it into an Ego with a newer, smaller poppit design. Unless SP sees the new Bob Long guns as a serious competitor, I doubt it will come back. SP is too set on spool valves right now.

Of course SP may turn it into a spool valve like they did the Shocker.

Why not just buy an Ego instead? Its basically the same as an Angel or Impulse with the hammer/valve fun we grew to love.

dont get me wrong i love impulses but thier whole design in general is outdated. any stacked tube EP using not only a ram housing but a hammer attacked to the ram is outdated. it just makes a larger gun with more reciprocating mass. all unneeded. they are also generally less efficient. clearly the most efficient way to build a ram driven gun is a timmy style...more specifically teh new models that have come out that are major changes to the design: 06 timmies (taking a timmy and making smaller), ego 7 (elimination of ram housing, ram just fits into teh body which is the ram housing), protege/vice (more efficiently designed timmy using better position noids, wires, no front blocks, better design lprs), and marq which are inline.

there is no impulse style ram and hammer design that caun ever touch gun like teh ones i listed. technology wise the impulse is dead. the only guns that still exist like that which are still considered top performers are akas- which is only because aka is soooo good quality and machining teh guns perform so well, and WDP which have thier 3 tube and rotabreech thing, as well as superb technology and features. however both of these guns are struggling compared to new bob longs, borgs, and egos.

here we go again

Now if smart parts were to make a newer smaller impulse... Where would the fun be with that...

Besides... theres enough markers in the market to satisfy whatever sorta specs your looking for in a marker... ie. weight, profile, speed, effeciency...

I have to say it would be interesting if SP brought it back as a poppit, that way we could have the Ion as the spool valve that can have the **** upgraded out of it, and then a poppit that has a stupid number of upgrades for it too. Of course make the Imp higher tier than the Ion.

What fun is that?

Nerves aren't terrible, they were just released at a bad time with very bad planning. Only a few aftermarket parts were made for it, and it died out.

And for a bad price. Considering the Shocker was so much smaller. But yeah, the Nerve wasn't marketed well.

in what ways? the nerve was really and impulse on a diet. would have made a great gun, too bad the aftermarket never caught on with it. thought about picking one up sence they can be had for cheap, bout the same as a mildley up graded impulse... $250 give or take

Well the purpose of the nerve was to not need any upgrades, so not many really were made.

the nerve is the barry bond to the impulse babe ruth, both hit the same, and do it the same way
lets face it
SP doesnt give a flying F what some of its former customers want, they are out there to DICTATE what the comsumer will buy,
so F them
I will continue to buy used, rare impulses, but as far as ever spending money for a new SP gun, they will get that money when i sweat it out of my ballsack
PE had the right idea when they brought out the EGO, they did it at a time that people were looking for a ram and poppet gun
