halfblock merlin question

well have been tuning my halfblock merlin project and noticed that the face of the bolt is only about 1/8 inch past the breech when closed.is this normal? I went by jcm spec's but I had to do some extra milling for the sled and bolt to sit right so I'm wondering if I need to mill down the top tube so the bolt will slide forward more. right now i have about a matchbook cover betwen the sled and top tube.

how much space is between the barrel and the front of the bolt when the barrel is screwed in and the bolt is forward?

What you need to do... is take the valve out of the gun... shine a laser pointer through the hole for the set screw that holds your valve in,(could probably use a flashlight, but laser works better for me) Now... look through the front of the gun, where the barrel threads in, and slide the bolt into the back of the breach until you can see the laser beam shining through the valve air passage, through the air whole in the bottom of the bolt, and into the bolt. Mark the bolt there... that's where it needs to be for the air passage to line up with the bolt, then mill the body or sled or whatever you have to do so that the bolt will sit there when it's all put together. Make sure to leave a little play, you don't want the back block tight against the back of the body, you want to be able to adjust things a bit with the pump arm.
