Which should I go with...

A small c02 tank, or 12grams on my phantom. Im just getting into pump, and I can't really decide which. Ive played with my friends phantom which he had a dropout c02 changer, which I really liked the feel of, but he went through 12grams like crazy. With the small c02 tank, I just have to get it refilled, and its probably cheaper, but the reason I bought a phantom was for the feel of it being just the gun, no hopper, or tank. Suggestions?

Personally I use twelve grams with my Phantom whenever I can afford it or am not in a scenario game nowadays. It's personal preference, though, so you're going to want to also at least try a small (3.5 or 4 ounce) tank. They retain value pretty well, too.
They don't make mistakes. They don't do random. There's always an objective, always a target.

Yes, in the long run, 3.5 oz ARE cheaper, but it's personal preference.

I like using 12g... smaller lighter and more of a challange.

i have more fun when i play with 12 grams. its harder, and that makes it alot more fun.

12 grams per day? depends on how much i shoot. 1 gram ever 20-30 shots. my guns more effecent than that, but the rule with reloading "reload when you can, not when you have to"

its more of a challenge to play with 12 gms, You can find them at about 50 cents a peace, which is average price, I get em cheaper, but thats just me, go with a 3.5 oz tank, you should get about 200-300 shots , and dont buy just one buy 2

I always used a 3.5oz. because it's cheaper and getting bunkered when changing the cartridge sucks major ***.

I run a 3.5 oz vertically or hawaiian on my phantom, I prefer it to 12 grams because of one or two fills lasting all day, and it's cheaper in the long term. Twelve grams to make for a very, very light setup, though, but I'm concerned more with balance than absolute weight, and a 3.5 balances fine as long as it's not run backbottle or bottomline.
