i use the green one, i think the thinnest is blue (or what comes installed with the marker)

so basically, these inserts change the volume of air in the fire chamber?

how exactly does this benefit us? why didn't SP just keep the best performing insert in the gun and not ship others? or is it not that simple.

in an HPA setup, how would changing the insert affect performance?

thanks

PS. what im asking is pretty much : with HPA and a good hopper and barrel, what insert gives the best performance? or is it different for every gun.

We have found that the best target range to be in is 250psi to 280psi shooting whatever velocity you want be set at. People add on different accessories that raise or lower you operating pressure. We included the inserts to fine tune your gun depending on what after market components you put on. Each gun will also have a slightly different operating pressure due to tolerance variances in machining and also tolerance variances in the orings.

its just another form of adjusting the air chamber volume for a faster/slower recharge rate that will effect gas efficiency and adjust how large your fire chamber is, now i dont understand the scientific benefits from these inserts but going to the thickest (its a big jump) drops the velocity to a reball centers max velocity without changing anything else. you can also run with absolutly no insert and the fire chamber has its largest volume.

Based on our testing in our top secret labratories, the 250-280 is the optimum operating pressure for best recharge rates and best shot shot consistency. These tests were done over a ballistic chronograph hooked up to a computer to determine how fast it was shooting (fps and bps) and looked at the data that came out. We tested various operating pressure. I personally shot the mod for about year before it came out as well in my ion. I would let people borrow my gun, and they would come back and go "wow.. what did you do to this thing!"

ok, so when i get my Eos, I air it up, set the velocity to the field limit, and if i fall within 250-280, i'm fine. if not, that's when the inserts come in?

another question: it's been a while since i've touched a paintball gun. my trauma matrix had an optical magnetic trigger, so it was a little different to set than these triggers.

i know there is a lot of "personal preference" to trigger setup, but how are you guys setting the triggers up for high ROF? i feel like tiny little click click trigger pulls are never that fast.

i'm guessing a decently long pull (3-4mm?) with the actuation point in the middle is fastest?

you know i should grab my buddys micrometer and mesure what mine is, and get it up for you, i set mine up pretty solid, then had the tech at my proshop feel it and tune how he think it might work better, i ended up lengthening the pull a little bit. i'd gues 2.5 to 3 mm but i'll get you an accurate number over the weekend

smaller the space (larger the insert) the less air it takes to make the optimal psi needed to run the gun the more efficiant and more shoots per tank you get.... its not a matter of FPS TO PSI cuz i beleave smart parts set their guns up pretty good to run in those perameters.........however changing regulater and other air tolerent items, the spacers will play a very large roll.....but think of it this way its not the psi you are changing in the chamber its the volume of air that you are changing...........

my 2 cents of trying to remember highschool physics.
