Do you feel like the EVO is holding you back?

Well...you can upgrade the trigger and the regulator for alot less than a new gun...but if you feel the need to keep up on the BLING factor, theres only one real answer.

You simply got to go with what you know.
Youre not playing for anyone but yourself.

I personally think the F-8 is ugly as sin. But that's just me. And it is indeed possible to make a low-pressure blowback operate as well as a midrange marker.

In reality, an Evo can perform just as well as any midrange marker out there provided it has proper pressure regulation and a good paint-to-bore match. The fact that it's a blowback also makes it easier to fix/diagnose problems due to it's simplicity.

I agree with Mr Virus- The Evo can be upgraded to perform well for a lot less than a new marker would cost, but also ask yourself if the Evo is holding you back. It's your own choice, really.

i have two evos and ive upped the crap out of them. unfortunatly they dont have the resale value. he probably wont get back what he puts into it if he goes all out. but, there is a guy on ebay selling tboards for 10, plus you can get cheap regs and cheap triggers too. can always keep the evo as a back up when you want to move on.

QFT

Guaranteed, youll have a shooter that will ALWAYS work whenever you need it.

**As a side note, have you considered the MINI over the F8?
The MINIs ease of maintenance is comparable to the EVO, and is less expensive than the F8.

i would say upgrade your evo because evos are very upgradeable but if you are going to buy a new gun get a invert mini i hear they rock

That's pretty standard on Fleabay.

If you're running the PMI reg on your EVO then I feel for you. I have one and it's a TERRIBLE reg. Tremendous shootdown when you start walking the trigger. My PMI is was on a used GTI that I got but it sits in a bag of old regs now. My EVO was the SE version with the Detonator and the Det is WAY better than the PMI reg. ANS Extreme had the Det on sale a few weeks back for $10 each. If you can still score one it would be a tremedouse up for your EVO. I like the Det so much that I got 3 more from that sale to go with the one on my EVO and the other on one of my other Piranhas.

That and feed it some decent paint and I think the EVO is as good as you'll get any blowback to be. From there the only real issue is that the EVO is overall a big gun compared to many others. It's also heavy but weight isn't as big a deal as size.

Even if you do get something smaller and sexier the EVO is still worth perking up a little and then keep it as your backup.

re:

on person that just bought a 07 fusion there not bad marker but have more of an upkeep then a min or a pmr due to they use a new type of switch to fire the marker(old way was a small metal tab on a micro switch) the new mini use same tech as paintball eyes so it easy for the system to get dirty or fail.on the fusion if you dont zero out both regs when you air up you can pop an oring in the noid. chuck on the mini did they fix the problem with that small plug that would jam at high rof sometimes?? on ion there weak spot is they use a lot of plastic air tubbing the old rev one ions had a high fail rate intill smart parts started using better grade of airline.some of the icd markers are ckeep but the company has now folded so parts may be an issue(vaperwork at this time does have parts) i pick up a icd lasoya bushmaster for under 200.00 online. on a new marker it up to you on wich one you buy.

ion is alright, very very upgradable. Problem is the stock feedneck breaks fast and you have to practically take about the whole gun to get the bolt out to lube the o rings and stuff like that. Other than that the ion is pretty reliable. I would suggest going on ebay and you can get 06 shockers for around 200-300 or sometimes 07 shockers for 350-400.
