My biggest piece of advice for new players is not to get stuck on crappy "virtuoso rock" players like Yngwie Malmsteen or Steve Vai. They really aren't that good.

just wana know what would be decent starter bass. i was looking at a squier, but i really dont know much about what makes a decent bass. |

Squiers are good. This was my first (and only) bass

for a beginner bass you just want to play a bunch of different ones and see which is most comfortable for you. Also make sure that the frets don't cut your hands, or you will have some serious sanding to do. |

Have you played one? Some people love that Dan Electro "vintage" vibe. A lot of people dismiss them as a budget guitar with ****ty pickups. I don't personally find them the most playable guitars myself, but It all comes down to how it feels in your hands. Try, as much as you can, to play before you buy.
