For those of you who have heard about PSP's XBall changes...

... we won't be changing the format any.

yay, at least one league will still have full format Xball.

Although, implementing something similar in the future might be necessary if enough teams express interest in Class A, especially on the local level.

haha. I thought I was about to be surprised with some sort of Koosh Ball format change.

However, we do have a big problem that I'm not sure is attributable to format change or teams' organizational management -- Class A teams keep dropping out mid-season.

Dropping teams may be something that is also happening in AA, but it's especially detrimental to Class A due to the way the conferences & schedules work.

I just wanted to throw that out there and see if people had any constructive ideas on how we could (if we can) fix the problem.

Increase the season entrance fee to like $7000 and includes all your paint or some previously determined number of cases. This way teams will be forced to play since they have invested a large lump sum at the beginning of the season. Or do two payments of $4000, one at the beginning and one before the second event.

Actually, I don't think we'll lose anybody mid-season this year.

We lost everyone pre-season.

So all those MW and GL teams that dropped were pre-season?

Either way, the problem remains that we're committing teams to a Class A conference and then they drop, leaving empty conference spots.

Prepaying for paint is a bad idea... especially when you consider individual teams paint sponsorships.

It's because all of those other teams don't have any heart.

And anybody that has read Ollie Lang's wall knows that heart wins tournaments.

I think we should go to BCS standings like college football, there has never been a question on ranking or issues there....am I right boys?

I think changing to a lite format would be one of the worst changes for college paintball. I love the fact that you have to play with the time. Its important as a coach to keep that clock in mind

Yeah, we've had BYOP in all of our class A events for the last 2.5 years minus nationals and one indoor event. This was mainly due to playing at a particular field (Badlandz), and recently two more fields that also allow BYOP regularly.

because the new 12 man rule, our team owner is asking enough money in monthly dues for d2x to feed a small country for real.

its absurd
