Thumbs up NEED background music for presentation on War, help appreciated

Hey guys,

Im doing a slideshow for my history class on war...and i need some good background music for it....im guessing you guys have experience with slideshows, presentations, etc.

Rules
1. no explicit language, class setting
2. can't be too intense...again, the music will be played in class
3. song must go with emotional pictures of war

any suggestions? i need some songs (and any good pictures) that would fit good with a slide show with emotional pictures of war.

Thanks,
Mark

p.s i could use some more "deep" pictures of war, and any good quotes you have on the topic of war

You're representing war in what sense? The bad? The technology? The brutal/gore?

...needs metal

Skinless' entire "Trample the weak, hurdle the dead" album is based on WW2 or something....

Mad World by Gary Jules

I used it for a presentation about the Ugandan conflict. Worked well.

Also try Hymn for the Dead by Anti-Flag

Mr. Novocaine - Don McCloskey *
Hung My Head - Johnny Cash
Prism #1 - Stateless

Again it'd be best if you could give us the war, what mood you're trying to convey, and other details. The above songs are my best atm, good luck

Pretty much anything by Hendrix is a good choice I'd say...

Paint it Black - Rolling Stones
Welcome to the Machine - Pink Floyd (it's just such a godly song you have to use it)
Right in Two - Tool
Rooster - Alice in Chains
In A Gadda Da Vida - Iron Butterfly
Pillars of Salt - Murder by Death
Voice of the Voiceless - Rage Against the Machine
Platoon theme song

If I were doing a project on war those are the songs I'd use...

Dont do Mad World...It's too over-used nowadays.

It was fine when it was in Donnie Darko, but when they put it in the Gears of War trailer I knew people wouldnt shut up about it...No offense to anyone that has mentioned it here.

Dont get me wrong, it's a good song, but it's also remake...I assume everyone is referring to the Gary Jules version?

EDIT: I guarantee that at least 5 people in your class use it, so just be original.

I was going to say A Song For Our Fathers. Maybe Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Dead Flag Blues. It's instrumental but has a crazy opening monologue.

Great song, great song.
Unity would be sweet, but the lyrics aren't all that school appropriate so he probably couldn't use it.

How about...

Avail- Simple Song
Dillinger Four- Noble Stabbings
Fifteen- Land Mine
