This was one hell of a day

A family moving to the relief center.

Calling family members proved to be a difficult task as the network was constantly jammed.

A different angle on disaster.

A family moving important items out of the house so as to not have them stolen or destroyed by tomorrow.

The search crew for spotting safety hazards such as power lines.

Is this why my cable is out?

Assessing the situation.

Nothing rides like a Buick.

Markings from the fire department to indicate house is structurally sound.

Scraps of housing everywhere.

Where did we park? On a serious note, this car was flown about 80-100ft.

From what I heard between home owners, everything seemed relatively calm emotion wise. "It is a shame, but it's nature" "It's just mother nature--nothin' you can do about it." etc. I was kicked out along with some AP photographers after about an hour due to the discovery of live wires which I actually had the pleasure of ignorantly walking on before. There was an amazingly fast police and resuce response to this event.

Thanks! I've covered a lot of events in the past, but this was the first that I felt ill trying to take pictures of the people. I walked into the relief building (school) and immediately thought, "errrr I should probably not use a flash...or even take photos alltogether" lol. I heard a lot of first-hand stories of the fear and awe of being in the middle of a tornado. I had to run into a house for cover during the second warning. The amount of fear was pretty real. When all was quiet so began the work. I found a young teen who stood outside where his house and barn used to reside. I asked him if he and everyone was alright and he responded, "dude my parents are in California on vacation -- I was in there all alone!" I was stunned by the thought and couldn't help but laugh and reply, "Weren't their house rules clear about not completely destroying everything while they are away??" We laughed.

It's not consequences that shape you, it's how you react to them.

For everyone emailing, messaging, and asking when or where their photos are, I will get back at them later tonight when I get home. Expect them tomorrow--thanks

that was a really bad storm, rain was epic and the winds were even worse, just got lucky out here, feel bad for those that were affected by this. Tornado sirens were going on for quite a bit of time

I live in Waupun for the oakfield one and remember looking up at the sky and seeing the clouds being really crazy looking.

Hope everyone is ok in southern wisconsin and anyone that was involved with the fog crashes on I-90.

Event: Stinger 3 Man
Comments: Thank you Stinger for hosting and organizing the event and allowing me access to the field.

I am going to first start off by saying thank you for using GarrettMaster Photography. I appreciate the patronage and thank you for your patience as I sorted through and am now beginning the editing process. I am distributing the links after posting this messsage.

---------------------------------

Now time for some FAQ:

1.) Why are they so dark?

Stinger is a great indoor paintball facility--there is no doubt about that. Photography wise, however, any indoor building will naturally result in lower lighting. This being said, I upped my ISO this time to 3200 which to the other photographers reading this thread, I say this to you: Find a better way and I'm game--realise that before you email me in haste. In an effort to produce brighter more vivid raw images, I chose a higher sensor ISO which might result in a bit more grain than desired.

2.) My download is slow.

I expect about 90 people are going to download their photos by the end of this week. For the best results, try your download at an obsceure off-beat time. Any time I want to drive through Chicago, I do so at either extremely early in the morning, or really late at night. Same theory applies to bandwidth. If your download fails to work, send me an email and I will fix it.

3.) Is that it?

The second link (posted later) will contain the
download location to my manipulated photos taken from the original
archive. If I see one worthy of manipulating for PR purposes, I will
provide you with the originals to this work.

4.) My team got unequal coverage. You suck.

That or your team either won or lost too fast for me to ascertain an
ample amount of photos. Some games had less than a 20 second span
for me to get equal coverage, or a player was out too soon, or they
were out of view no matter what angle I tried to scope, et cetera. Add in the fact that there were multiple fields to monitor and that some teams had up to two stand-ins, et cetera.

5.) Special Requests

If you want a specific photo manipulated or worked on, please provide
me with the name of the photo (i.e. "IMG_0000"). If you have any
other requests, simply email me.

6.) Who is this player in my folder?

If you have photos of a player not on your team, please email or PM me the name of the file (i.e. "IMG_0000").
