Anybody Else going to Oklahoma D-day?

Just seeing how many people on pbnation from MN will be heading down to Oklahoma D-day.

D-day 08 will be my third year playing playing the event. Each year a small group of friends and I join the German 352 Infantry division and car pool down there.

Our team might head down there for the event. Can you supply me with some info. Such as places for lodging, camping available, cost and whatever info you can give me. Our team is just starting to bloom.

All the information can be found at http://www.ddayadventurepark.com/

The event goes for about 7 days straight with the first 5 days being Mini scenarios that dont actually apply towards the D-day game. I remember last year there was a "Battle for Stalingrad" mini scenario, a civil war style one a night game and a bunch of others. If I remember right its two events a day with usually 500+ players and then saturday and sunday are the actual D-day event in which we had a little over 4000 players for 2007. They also usually run a speedball field for a couple hours each night.

As far as lodging there are some hotels in the area but I think the majority of people camp on site ($2 fee for the week if I remember right) which is what we have done the last couple of years.

As far as costs go, registration is something like $70-$75 and then the cheap paint is $65 a case and the premium paint is $75. Last year I played in three mini events and played speedball two nights then the actual D-day event and I only used 2.5 cases of paint. All together with paint food and gas I think I spent about $350 which really isnt that much for a whole week of paintball when it usually costs me $75-$100 a day if I go to Air assualt or something.

The vendors also have some pretty awesome stuff on hand to look at and buy. Its a great experience for anybody thinking about going.

If you wanna throw some paint at me join the Allied 1st division they are the ones that attack the beach held by the 352 German division.... If you ask me the guys in the allied 1st division have to have some serious balls to wanna crawl up a big rocky hill in 100 degree heat while getting shot at

if you're an allied paratrooper you will be running straight into the 6th falls ambushes. Last year we had 75 germans killing 300+ paratroopers for 50 of our guys in the first 20 minutes, it was an impressive time.

The last couple of years we left Rochester MN around 10-11pm and just drive through the night switching drivers ever 100miles or so. Leaving late actually works out pretty nice because then we get there around 9am give or take.

Even if people arent in the same divisions or even the same side it would work out decent to set up a car pool thing. The only problem I can see is some people might wanna go the whole week where others might only wanna go for a couple of days. We usually skip the first couple of days.

I played on a three man team at a tournament back in the Day where we got 3rd out of 18 teams and I practiced briefly with the MNSU guys but I've been working 30-40 a week while taking a full class load and trying to get up to see my girl at St. Olaf in Northfield so during school I havent had much time for an organized team. I've basically just been playing for fun an average once a month the last 7-8 years or so.

I'm hoping to make it down to Jagers Subsurface paintball in kansas city with Ron (owner of Run-N-gun and play it again sports) and some other guys in January when I'm back for break.

We'll probably be leaving from somewhere in SE MN (probably NE Rochester or Run-N-Gun paintball) around 11pm the night before we wanna be there, anybody else is welcome to follow us down if they want.
