here is just a quick google search on heat effects on almunium -
http://www.wisoven.com/heatreat.htm
you can clearly see there is a BIG difference between blow torching you gun and baking it.

Your changing the structure of the Anodizing, not the aluminum underneath, Which is a Ceramic Aluminum Oxide coating that isnt metal at all, Anodizing under heat begins to become very brittle and cracks.

125customs is taking small amounts of Anodizing work currently. Gloss and Dust. Splashes, Acidwashes, and Fades done

you might not be changing the structure of the anno though.
its common place in aluminum treating to "age" it by holding it at lower temps for long periods of time (sometimes even days or more) to get the ductility and hardness and the proper interstitial partials to even out. this is denoted by the 6061 T3 or T5. the T term denotes some kind of heat treatment.
so, my entire point here, is simple. your little test with the blow torch doesn't prove anything because the conditions of each heating are not the same. you can't just say "well heating its heating it, regardless" because quite simply, its not. you might be right, maybe it does ruin the anno, then again, maybe not. and your little test, is evidence of neither.

I have to agree. I noticed this when I was fixing a bent body one time. The heat screwed up the anodizing layer.
I think in any case where heating changes the anodizing color, its also deteriorating the oxide layer. Until proven otherwise, I for one am not going to risk my markers for something that looks cool...

holy ****zor dude lol. you like violated all of the rules that everyone says will prevent it from flaking. hows the anno? have you ride to scratch it off? im thinkign its a lot more brittle now. if not the anno but the actual aluminum itself that straight into water wasnt a good idea lol. and you were about a hundred degrees too high and an hour too shrot.
but who cares. that **** looks good. hows your house smell?

its nice and smooth
no flaking, and there's only one small blemish, but it was probably dirty
my kitchen's nice and toasty lol but it doesn't smell at all
it did cool for about 5-10 minutes though and only fizzled a little bit
edit: scratch test is good. it's holding up to a knife blade and some hammering.

lol. must be an old asa for you to be smashin on it not worrying if somethign goes wrong.
so you think if my parents are gone for 2-3 hours i can do this w/o them noticing? i know its all like you shouldnt do this without adult supervision or you could burn the house down, what if somethign goes wrong stuff, but ive done more dangerous things than both my parents combined. not neccesarily on purpose either. point beit idc.
if this turns my minis anno seafom greenish sort of like how diablos came out then im for sure doing everything but body lol. thats the only part id be scared to do. just because if you **** somethign up there its gone.
anybody do this on extremely thin parts? only reason i remembered is the minis manifold plate comes down to 1-2 mm thickness at parts

I am still leaning against this whole Idea, but I think it comes down to patience.
It would appear that low temperatures, with longer periods of time.....with a long cool down produce the most consistent, "safest" results. Although if I am spending 3 hours by the oven I am gonna spend it cooking me a fat *** turkey, not a $600 marker.
