SC or The Compound?

Guys,

Played SC many times, Jungle Island a couple of times as well.

I have never played the compound.

Looking to get some walk-on airball play in tomorrow, Sunday.

Recommendations?

Compound better if you have a full line of 7. There usually aren't many walk ons there. Sometimes if a line is short you will get to play a lot (7v7), but if there are only 4-5 other walk ons you may end up playing 3v3s all day or something. Which isn't bad, but it obviously depends on what you are looking for.

As far as everything else is concerned (field upkeep, bunkers, reffing, air fills, staging, etc.) The Compound is far and away the better choice.

Hey guys,
"The Compound" is so much better than SC. You don't have the attitudes at the compound that you have at SC. The fields are so much better due that they are Air-bunkers and Not Hyper-ball fields. If you want some true tournament style playing fields, the Compound is the place. He has great air also.

Compound, although i dont think the walk on crowds that great, mostly its 7 on 7's with teams practicing but theirs always a group of walkons sometimes small tho.

Either way compound/JI>SC no cow crap smell and i dont think its as hot

Thanks guys.

I actually woke up late with a two-hour drive ahead of me.

I went with SC just because I know there are always going to be a lot of people there and I didn't want to get to Compound to find a team practice day or very few walk-ons. Good call I guess based on the comments.

Turns out they had two airball fields up (unusually for SC) and a good mix of team practice and walk-on.

Had to mix it up on the hyperball field a few times, but after hooking up with another tourney player, it turned out to be a great day and a lot of games. (also unusual).

As I talked to more guys at SC, they pretty much came up with the same thing as you all: Bring a group to compound.

Thanks!

Hey pbrange: Team Mojave Nemesis,
If you ever want to bring out your team for practice, let me know. We setup our own bunkers at "The Compound". So if you want, just let me know we can setup a Saturday to scrimmage.
You can reach me @ shark30688@charter.net

The Compound has more to offer now for tournament players. I used to play on the fields at SC in the past. Maintenance there has fallen which has lead more people to The Compound. Plus hiding behind properly filled bunkers staked down correctly is a plus in this sport... find it at The Compound

what we need is, is more players coming out to the "Compound". The bunkers are in great shape. It's a great place to come out if your thinking about getting into tournament play. Most of the time there are several teams out there and they are always looking for players to fill there roster, especailly at this time of year. Getting ready for 08. The more players and teams start showing up at the Compound, the more the Compound will grow and in the long run benefit the player. It's a give and take. We need to support our local fields before we have no place to practice or play. Team Keebler is out there every other Saturday, but starting the first of the year, we'll be pretty much out there every Saturday or Sunday or both. Come out. We could use teams to scrimmage. Make the effort. I think you'll be surprised on how nice it is. It's just my two-cents.

sc is home. has been home since tombstone was done. and will stay home as long as they put up a field in the fish bowl or upper turf. even the hypes are insane.

I think if sc sundays were packed as **** like they used to be, people would have more fun and **** would get done as far as refs and maintenance cuz more people will complain.

But until we get another big crowd going, I and the rest of the wildcats will continue to grind **** out every sunday.

Theres your problem right there. If you want a place where people will call home, come out and have a good time, and get what they pay for, yuo have to do stuff without complaints forcing you to.

From what I have seen, the guys at the Compound rake balls, fill bunkers, etc without being asked to, and even on the occasion they are asked, they do it without ******* and moaning.

How many fields are up at the compound this weekend? Just the two decent ones and the one crappy field? I should have 5-6 people..
