$40,000 is a fair number for a season of Class A.
I would say $15,000 for a season of Class AA is fair, we spent $22,000 one season with some equipment but a team buying equipment is rare. Keep in mind that the costs are spread over 8 months and with school funding, fundraisers, and team dues its not that much.

Average price for a season of Class AA is $12,000-$15,000 (travel, paint, entry, pracitce, and nationals)

We got a few minor sponsorships and 3 fields we worked out deals with for certain things, but since it is our first year we are finding it hard to cover paint and entry fee costs without adding a team fee per season. But from what we have figured out we are looking at spending $1500 +- per person for the whole season, but keep in mind that this included out equipment and jerseys.

the 40,000 for the class A expenses does not include equipment. Also, though animal paintball jerseys are cheaper than CSG (50 compared to 80), the csg jerseys last ALOT longer. The animal jerseys tend to rip and you can tell it is a cheaper quality. If you are buying a jersey and you expect it to last over 1 year, spend the extra money and get csg.

I will never again get CSG jerseys because it took 5 months to get them. Their colors were good though.

Also can we get a breakdown of the $40,000. That seems kind of high for one season of Class A.

I agree. We don't get anywhere near that number in funding, and I know we're not paying $30,XXX out of our own pockets.

I just did a rough calculation of total Class A costs for us, and it comes out to be $17,300, including plane tickets & rental vans for nationals. If you take into account gasoline and food, we could round it out to $20,000.

4800 practice paint
3600 Class A entry fee
4000 event paint (based on $40 cases)
1200 hotels (based on $100 rooms)
3000 natl's plane tix (based on $250 tix)
700 nat'ls rental vans

Edit: Just realized I didn't include Nat'ls paint, so add another $1000.

Only $40,000? Class A costs us about $63,000; at least that's what I told the school .

Drexel - Fully funded
UConn - Fully funded
Maryland ~ $4,000
Rutgers ~ $4,000

Fully funded ~ $20,000 - $30,000

temple get 5000 a year, spread out through 4 AA events and then an emergency/rollover fund

all the funding we can get for nationals comes out of a differnet pool once we "qualify"- they have money left aside for rec sport clubs who make the post season and thats what they consider nationals

our members also pay over 300 in dues to cover all that isnt covered, jerseys, tee shirts, hotels, air fair, etc

Rutgers is only guranteed like 2 or 3 G. The rest comes out of how much I haggle them, so our funding fluctuates.

well running a college team isnt cheap, eku plays 1aa 5- man. our average expenses are this.

-around $45-$65 a week for 1 sometimes 2 weekly practices
-$150 team tournament entry fee(think around 2 tourneys per semester)
-hotel fee varies but usually around 15 a player to all illegally pile in one room
-$40-$50 per case of paint, think of it as atleast 1 case a player, but 2-3 is expected if you make finals
-another $35-40 per player for gas (depends are where your going) and another $15-20 for food
-jerseys $50 a piece from animal or like $20-25 if you take the cheap route (we use golf shirts from walmart for now)

I have been wearing the same CSG jersey since I started playing for maryland it is better than those POS smart parts jerseys. Also this is the most funding we have gotten ever at 4k.

Northeastern only got about 3k or so from the school. That covered the cost of outfitting the team (13 people) with jerseys, pants, and a mask. We also managed a good sponsorship with a local field, so our paint prices are pretty cheep and we don't have to pay for entry and air as long as we clean the field afterward and we get a nice discount on purchases. We also charge the tourney players about $200 or so in dues. However, that only covers the first 2 events for us so fund raising will be necessary to play the rest of the season. Practice paint comes out of pocket every week and we usually pool the paint so its $10-$15 per player per week. We have found it costs us about $500 per line per tourney (entry and paint) so far.
