I have owned an ion for 2 years and recently in my town a bunch of kids got into paintballing. They all wanted to buy guns and came to me for advice. I asked their price range and 1 kid said 200 another said 150 and another only 100. For the kid that said 200 i said an ion. For the kid that said 150 i said to try to get a used ion or the new spyder Vs1. And for the kid with 100 i told him that if he wanted a decent gun he should save up more. The kid with 200 bought the ion and it was fine. The kid with 150 bought a spyder piolet for 125 and that worked out good. And lastly the kid with 100 told me that he was buying a gun called an ICON. At first I thought he was buying a cheap piece of crap and he would be dissapointed after a week so i pleaded with him not to get it. Of course he went and bought it and did not take my advice. That was smart on his side. When he got the gun it proved to be pretty nice and easy to walk for a nonelectric gun. It also seemed pretty reliable during games. I just thought i would share that with you guys and say that an ICON is not a bad gun for the price AT ALL. The only thing i think could make it better would be a new trigger. Please leave your comments

yea. even though u dont have an icon, you still give good advice about what too do if ur gun brakes

The one who bought the Ion paid normal price, the one who bought the pilot spent $25 than the normal new price of $100(http://www.actionvillage.com/is-bin/...AAAEDESTO1WtJ), and $55 more than the remanufactered price of $70(http://www.actionvillage.com/is-bin/...AAAERHdrovKQ8)... the one who bought the Icon, (i'm assuming its an icon x as you said it was mech) spent $65 more than the normal $35 new price of an icon x. All spyder parts and interchangeable for icon guns i believe. I have an icon pump!!! i call it "ipump" hehehe.

If he spent 65 more then im pretty sure it was a Icon Z and not a Icon X (icon z is also mechanical)

I have an Icon X(back up gun),got a great deal on it and the support
I got when I had a problem was great..It leaked,they fixed
it(new valve)and had it back to me within a week...plus I
got the 2 year warranty.It's always reliable..I've added a
JJ 12" barrel and a rocking trigger,hpa and use my Halo hopper
from my Tippmann and it performs really well.
I haven't had a problem since,(a year and a 1/2)...
Ha!...Ive spent over twice what I paid for it
just in accessories.


It performs as well as my son's MR2.

I have a friend who has an ICON it's actually quite a good gun for the price. ICON is pretty much just a spinoff of spyder, so all spyder parts work with ICONs.
