DM minus C, plus custom eye covers

I removed the "C," which wasn't really all that hard and it's been done before. But what I'm actually kind of proud of are the eye covers. They started out as the jewels on the outside of the composite, shown here (not my gun, just stole the pic to show the jewels):

I popped them off the body, dremeled them down, drilled holes for the screws, and countersunk the holes. I think they turned out pretty well, especially considering how hard it is to get ahold of stock eye covers for a DMC.

Check it out, I'd love any questions/comments.

I know it's not as cool but here is something you can do..

take a piece of masking tape and put it over the eye cover recess in the body. Then take a pen and outline the exact size of the recess.. then take that outline and put it on a thin piece of aluminum (you can order from www.mcmaster.com) and cut it out.. polish and voila you have a custom made eye cover that fully covers the recess..

They're cross-hatched like that underneath the composite right?

yes as u see that dmc. is exactly how every dmc is under the plastic. im guessing the cross hatch adds to the strength of the bond between the plastic composite piece and the body itself.

I blow torch works wonders.

You can probably just pry and break it off

I totally love the look of that thing.
I really love the industrial look.

i used my oven, about 400* for 10 minute spurts. then some vice grips to bend the heated plastic until it gave way, then back in the oven and repeat until it was all gone

that gun would be the sickest dm to put a few windows in because the body lines are soo accentuated.
