Black thread tape?

Hey guys, I have been a tech for years now but recently we got in a shipment of fill nipples that have some sort of black thread tape on them. It appears to be some sort of rubber. This stuff works wonders on those darn threads that for some reason locktite wont seal up. Anyone know what this stuff is called and/or where to get it? And no, searching brought no related results. Thanks in advance.

Its not teflon, or if it is it is different than any I have seen before. Expensive and sold by the foot is ok, I just need to know what it is and where to get it.

That is the closest I can come to black thread tape.

I personally went to ACE (or any hardware store for that matter) and picked up a small tube of PTFE paste, it works great and a lot less of a hassle compared to teflon tape.

It's black thread tape designed for machines. It's generally only for sale in a 50 yard roll and even then they'll want you to buy multiple rolls.

I've been using it for 6+ years. It is by far the best and looks the cleanest when installed. I also like that it comes in 3/16" so it isn't too wide. Great stuff.

I actually had to buy more than a dozen rolls if I remember right for the distributor to sell it to me. Kee still uses it.
