To play YOUR 8 games yes but it aint just about you DEAL WITH IT. I had to wait just like you did. The reffing was like it was with any other tournament. I had bad calls and good calls suck it up. AA will probably be reffing the next one.

Holy **** guys. I'm not at all *****ing about the results of my team. Why do you immediately get on the defensive and start attacking me? Act like ****ing adults one time jesus. It's so childish to say, "want better, do it yourself" when obviously I cant. I'm sincerely shocked to hear that no one else minded waiting over 12 hours to finish an 8 game prelim, when it could have easily been changed up and finished each group in half the time.

For the record: We were specifically ****ed out of the semis by bad ref calls, but its pointless to bring those up now, the only thing we can do it think about improving next event, which I sincerely thought was the purpose of thread.

We're not acting like adults? Take the blame for your own teams mistakes, don't blame it on refs. If the refs didn't allow you on the field to play your games, thats the only way they couldve '****ed you out of finals'.

And why can't you do it? I don't think Joe Rieger is going to refuse you if you tell him you want to help with the division.

I thought it sucked that we had to wait so long between games, but I knew it was going to be like that with 33 teams and 1 field. You can't ***** about it if you knew it was going to be like that and came anyway.

The refs were turning games over so fast that they were still blowing up bunkers during the 10 sec. No matter how you figure it, 33 teams and 1 field will not finish in under 12 hours. If you have a proposal that accomplishes this, bless our ears with it, please?

In our first game of prelims I got a one for one called on me by a ref in the dorito side corner, near the netting. I got hit near the top of the mask on a delayed breakout to the small dorito in the corner, but it was where I could not see a break or know if I got hit. The ref sitting right next to me did nothing while the other ref came over and called me clean. Because of this I kept playing and a few seconds later the ref that was sitting there pulled me out and pulled another teammate. It is clearly shown on my video camera that the ref came over and gave the clean/safe signal, then the other ref pulls both of us. Luckily we won that game and didn't cost us semis.

Try getting DQ'd from an NCPA tournament for following referee's directions, than you can complain. A few bad calls, that is going to happen no matter where you go.

No, you really aren't. Didn't I just say I'm not *****ing about my teams performance?

"And why can't you do it? I don't think Joe Rieger is going to refuse you if you tell him you want to help with the division."

In what capacity? I would be more then happy to help.

"I thought it sucked that we had to wait so long between games, but I knew it was going to be like that with 33 teams and 1 field. You can't ***** about it if you knew it was going to be like that and came anyway."

Again, not really *****ing, just pointing out that this is an area improvement could/should improve. Just like the reffing.

"No matter how you figure it, 33 teams and 1 field will not finish in under 8 hours. If you have a proposal that accomplishes this, bless our ears with it, please?"

We had 2 sections of 16 teams, A and B. A played 4, B played 4, A played 4, B played 4. Why not just have a morning and afternoon session? I'm not saying this is the way it needs to be done, but there is certainly a better way of doing it then how Saturday went.

Clearly Saturday was a successful event. It ran as smoothly as it could have. I am really not arguing that. I enjoyed myself all weekend. Everyone is much nicer (except on the internet i guess lol ) in the NCPA compared to any other circuit this large. I would be content coming to the next event regardless if changes were made (which I am assuming will not, given we had this same exact conversation following #2 and nothing was taken into consideration).

Its the calls that weren't made that were the problem. 9 refs is simply not enough to ref a 33 team, 1 day event. They knew long beforehand that it was going to take all day. They almost certainly knew that they were being allocated over 2000 dollars to ref our event. Thats over 200$/person, which I would bet no one would agree that the refs earned. They should have brought at least 12 refs, if not more.

In your post up there, you just blamed the refs for keeping your team out of semi's.

You have to consider teams that don't normally play MWN events and are considering playing in the near future. If they read all this crap after every single event about how terrible everyone thought everything was, when in reality it ran great an everyone knows it, that team gets a false conception about the league. Ripon college is probably on here right now reading this, and glad they dropped out. This VERY thing has severely limited the CTS's turnout, I know that for a fact.

If you would've posted what you posted at the end of your last one from the very beginning, I would've been fine with it. Just state your opinion and move on, dont place blame. If you didn't like the refs, all you have to say is "I'm not a fan of the refs. Could someone please look into other options?" instead of "Ahhhhhhhh the refs kept us out of semis goddamnit!!!11"

I have to agree.

Considering the number of teams, that went as well as could be expected.

It all could have been easier had just a few teams gone to the MichState event instead (the event we were originally going to play that weekend before this one sucked all the teams away )

It's all good though.

I just wanna take this chance and say good job to Rieger and everyone else you ran the event and to the Refs for doing what they could. The event went very smoothly.

Like us.

We had some dicipline issues on our own team that will be worked out but there were some shady calls that made me wonder.

The 12 year old was the most damning with his "I'm not sure if I saw your barrel touching the net so I'm going to call you out anyways" call.

I mean, come on???

Like I said earlier though, bad reffing is part of the game. We knew it when we drove there.

Would we come back? Probably. But it's more the drive than anything else for us. But for that drive and the way Stinger presents itself as a top-notch indoor field, any team should expect better than 12 year old refs.

How about offering to pay alum reff the games that don't affect our team?

Event ran well. Well organized. Reffing as a whole was decent.

Just set some age/experience limits for those refs..that's all.

A monring and afternoon session works if you have a 2-day event. But not with finals the same day - then you have one group of teams that has been at the field since 7 AM playing against another group who didn't show up until 1 PM.

The double-split minimizes that advantage when you're running one day.

I didn't have a problem at all with the one day. Being able to watch paintball all day then enjoy some sweet texas roadhouse is a pretty good day to me. *i also didn't have a long drive home, so i'm a little biased.

What's there is there. I was only on the field for about a dozen games--most of which being the team I was paid for.
