paint as prizes shouldn't happen. Lot s of teams have paint deals and varing prizes bring in more than paint. Discounted entry to the following event would be nice. I hope that the cfoa doesn't go to 12bps. It's good how it is, and uncapped semi isn't bad at all.

differant starting for 5 man---done will be annouced in about 2 weeks.

rules test for refs---done all cfoa refs or anyone wonting to ref will have to attened a 2 day class at the end of january all info will be posted in the next day or two on this.

same refs on the field for each event---i did start this at the begining of the year it worked for about 3 tournaments this is hard to do life happens to refs as well .this is my goal for this season to train and retain as many refs as possible so i can put a set crew on the field each event.

consistent calls from field to field---done like i said ref training course for all refs and rules test.

any more suggestions please fill free to drop me a line via email.

I think instead of winning trophies and plaques at the end of the year that you cant take around with you and sit gathering dust they should give CFOA Champioship Belts for each years winners in divisions.

I like that belt, you should have to put your CFOA Championship belt on the line every game you play...whoever beats the champion gets the belt...lol.

Everything sounds good, perhaps creating a rules committee would be a good idea. I have seen too much of the grey area in my career and it would be nice to be able to help eliminate that part by putting some team captains/event sponsors heads together to have the players, sponsors, refs, and cfoa all working to further the league.

Overall, i would think you guys would enjoy the "7man field" more if it were an actual 7man field, the ones they used only consisted of ~ 26 bunkers which is about 20 bunkers shy of a 7man field. Now i know this would cost alot more money for new fields so that's most likely the reasoning behind having the smaller 7man style field.

It would be cool to have the layout for the next venue released after the previous venue or 1 month in advance giving all teams/refs time to experience these fields before the big day of the tourney. I know this is hard when you don't know what bunkers are going to make it to the tourney and have been destroyed, but i'm sure myself along with the other field/store owners could happily bring spare bunkers if needed to replace some that might have issues. As long as we get it back, lol.

In terms of Gift Certificates, i think i might have a solution in offering that team a set amount of cash(lower than the GC value) if they do not wish to use the GC's towards actual product. Just because you don't need anything as a team doesn't mean you would not be able to sell whatever product you decide to pick up with the GC.

Entry Fees, is definitely a great idea. Winner gets free entry to next 5man event, 2nd gets 1/2 off, 3rd gets 1/4 off, 4th gets a pat on the back? Not only does this promote winning teams to come back and defend their title, but it also helps them save some money throughout the season.

Party on CFOA, looking for to 2008!

4.12. If an inactive player touches the flag to a flag station, the point ends.

6.53. An “inactive” player is a player who has not been eliminated and
C) Has touched any ground, area or object that is out-of-bounds, or
D) Has an unobvious hit, or

6.76. A player with a hit (unobvious or obvious) is not active, so attempting to hang the flag with a hit is NOT a flag hang. The player with the hit should then be penalized (minor for unobvious, and major for obvious), and if there are no players left, the other team should be awarded the hang.

hey jason this dosent make sense to me help me out.it seem that if a inactive player hangs the flag the point is over,no point for anyone right?6.76 says different, i could be reading this wrong any insight would be helpful

The only time a point would be awarded is if the inactive player hanging the flag is the only player left on that team. Otherwise, the point ends and the penalty is given (minor or major) to the team attempting to hang the flag.

6.55. An “eliminated” player is any player
A) With an obvious hit

4.13. If an eliminated player touches the flag to a flag station, the point ends and the opposing team scores one point.

thanks for the input but do you see where i'm going with this.rule 6.76 doen't make full sense.the only way it would make sense would be if the player had a unobvious hit or stepped out of bounds.if said player had a obvious hit the rules state it would be a swing point.rule 6.76 rules that differently.that is where my dilema lies.

I would like to see the pits closed off from the public. It was pretty annoying having people walk through the pits during the matches and having to keep an eye on the gear the whole time. Just putting up some netting or really just any type of barrier would make a huge difference.
