hi i just got a minimag as a gift, and im wondering if i need a regulator for it, i dont see where it would go. it came with a expansion chamber but it just weigs me down so i wanted to just connect a macroline from the asa to the bolt mechanism thing. can the bolt regulate that pressure?

You do not need a regulator for the Minimag. They function just fine with just a line from the ASA to the valve body.
You adjust the pressure/velocity via the allenhead screw on the back of the valve body.

To add an aftermarket regulator you could either use a Palmer's Female Stablizer (ASA+reg in one, no foregrip) or pick up a vertical adapter that would attach near the front of the body rail (there should be a recession on the inside of the rail that you'd punch/drill out for the adapter mount).

A regulator will do nothing, but slow down the recharge rate. Do not put any kind of regulator on a mag. If your using CO2 leave the X chamber on.

The AutoMag A.I.R. is a precision regulator by itself. Keep the input in the 800psi range and you will not have any troubles.

Velocity is adjusted with a 1/8" Allen wrench in the socket at the rear of the valve.

Take off the barrel, put 5-8 drops of oil into the ASA, screw on the tank, dry fire about 20 times and replace barrel, then go play.
