Supposed to be 8-9 cases if it constantly fed until the batteries died.

with the slip clutch it sounds like the motor is CONSTANTLY running, and the
pressure on the balls maxes and then the clutch slips. then the motor keeps
spinning and there is a constant level of force put on the balls.

sounds like you will get a LOT better battery life if you turn it off between
games. probably will seem like HORRIBLE battery life if you have a bit of
downtime and don't turn the loader off. i believe i read in the "official news"
thread that it only get 2hrs of constant run time. that means anyone who
doesn't turn it off between games is going to have a dead hopper about
halfway through every day of play.

if you're willing this is the test i'd like to see:

one or two 9V's (preferably done with both).
load up the hopper.
put it on the gun, or block the opening so balls can't feed out.
turn on hopper.
assuming the motor is spinning constantly it will die in a given amount of time.

i'd like to know what amount of time this is.

Kinda a waste of time/batteries, but would be a good test. I say just let him to his 24hr game and see what the results would be.

Edit: Not even sure if you (legend) even said that you were going to a 24hr game..lol. Think i got mixed up between threads.

Yup that was me.

I told xluben in a PM that the motor does not constantly spin, even if the breach is full. Once a certain amount of tension is reached, the motor stops spinning, assuming it goes into a " standby " mode until a certain amount of tension is relieved. You hear no motor spinning when the breach is full, only see a green light.

So then how does it keep constant force on the stack?

The motor stops spinning, but it doesnt stop putting tension. What I mean by that is the motor doesnt disengage a clutch and go into " neutral ". It has constant tension applied. Example being.

You're pushing a car while its in neutral. The car puts on its break. You're still pushing but its not going anywhere.

I guess I didn't really mean it was going into a standby mode. That was the wrong way to put it.

Oh! I get it...thats cool. Finally a loader w/ a new way of putting tension.

I do have something that I see as a negative. It takes the last 20 or so balls and does not keep a successful, positive feed. Instead those last 20+ balls just hop around like the kernels in an air popcorn popper. Not a deal-breaker, but maybe there's a simple engineering solution that can fix it.

Maybe I'm holding my tongue wrong. ;-) Take a 1/4 full hopper of paint, have someone else shoot and watch the balls as it gets down to the last ones. Unless mine is defective, I got the same results (popcorn popper) every time.

Oh, and I did not know the F8 you were getting was green. That color rocks.

Are you using 2 9v's or 1 9v? I was using 1.. so maybe thats why mine didn't do that.

No big deal though I'll always be using 1 9v anyways.

Yah when we made the videos I also did not notice this popcorn effect but I did not think it would cause this because the cap on top of the spinning part moved independently preventing paint from being jumped around maybe im wrong.

If the hopper continues to perform and has a good maintenance record I definatly see it becoming a powerhouse in the loader market.

Also being able to send it back and have it fixed for 3 dollars no questions asked is unheard of!!!
