Cleaning grip tape off a carbon fiber tank?

Hey guys,
Recently picked up a use tank, and the previous owner had put grip tape on the butt. He removed the grip tape but there is still the tape residue left on the bottle. I was wondering if standard rubbing alcohol would be safe to use to attempt and remove this or if it would damage the clear coat or carbon fiber?

Do not put anything even remotely caustic on the tank body. You can ruin the coating very easily.
Best bet would be to contact a tank manufacturer, like Crossfire, and ask their advice on what a safe method would be in order to clean the gel coat.
