search limit bumped up to 1650 members online

i think it would be good if non-annual supporting members who are trying to search for stuff could search with 1650 members online. im sick and tired of having like 1517 members online and not being able to search. i know you guys will say "well you are just going to get mad when there are 1660 members online" yes i probably will. but at least when there are 1650 members online its not so late at night. NOW there are usually 1500 members online at 10:00 at night. (PDT) and there are usually 1650 members at 9:00 at night(of course PDT). this would be helpful to east coasters who dont have to stay up till 1:00 at night just to be able to search. any comments would be appreciated, whether you say its a good idea, or its a bunch of crap. let me know if i have a good idea.

I agree completely with you, its rediculous to say "you can't search anything on the site until the dead hours of the night unless you pay us". Its pretty much just PBN taking advantage of members who need to use the search feature. Thats also one of the reasons why they increased the price of supporting member and decreased the amount of time it lasts. They figured if they did that, that could get you to not only pay more to use the site, but you'll have to continue to pay more.

I use the search feature probably every day, as its very useful in finding things. The site is so large now that there are just some things that would take ages without the search feature. In most clubs, people w/o ASM just ask someone who has it to search for them and link them, rather than spending 2 hours sorting through the b/s/t to find a type of headband or something.

I can understand that the site needs plenty of money to continue operating, but I don't think bumping the search limit up to 1600 or so would damage the revenue greatly.

Since when was "support" measured in dollars? Thats called financing, not supporting. I think it'd be a sad day when this site only cared about people who offered money, I'm glad that it hasn't gotten that way yet.

Well the only other sort of support that would help the site run better is a big, expensive server, so if you'd rather donate one of those I'm sure they'll take you up on it.

Also, I'd like to say that I really love how it's always a conspiracy to make millions whenever people want to complain about how they can't search.

they don't post in the suggestion section as much, seeing as alot of the requests made by members are asking for superfluous privelages that they neither earned nor deserve.

Because this isn't my thread. I simply agreed with the threadstarter who was asking for something VERY minimal. Its not as if he was demanding free unlimited search for all users all the time. Incase you hadn't noticed, this is the suggestion box, not the "submit your thoughts to get bashed by rude members" forum. If you have something to add, post it. Don't just tell people that they're dumb and they need to go look somewhere else for an answer.

Whats funny to me, is that he could have avoided this thread completely by searching and findering the numerous other threads related. Except...he can't search, because there are more than 1500 people online. Don't you see the problem here?

I actually agree with both you and the thread starter. It's just that this topic has been brought up every damn month for as long as I can remember being on PbN. It's pointless to suggest it. It's not going to happen. Read the sticky for an alternative, and get over it.

I too miss my ASM, I bought it for the gold ups and the 45 second rule. Now that its gone, I feel...empty

I can understand that seeing this thread over and over again will be annoying, but as long as the rule continues, you will continue to see these threads. Theres nothing you can do about it aside from just quickly closing any thread mentioning the search limitations. I think PBN has been going through quite a bit of changes lately and it has been interesting with all of the new B/S/T changes. Perhaps in the future we'll see an increase in the search rule. It would make sense to increase the number a little bit each year based on the percent increase of members on the site.
