Attention Players In Abilene Area

Hello to all
I am currently making preparations to open a field but am having trouble
in deciding wheather or not it will be a good career option or a complete waste of time. This is why I have turned to pbnation. I need anyone in the Abilene area who would like the idea of there being an actuall established place for them to kick back and play some paintball and maybe even a couple tournaments here and there to let me know on this forum.

One more thing, I know this isnt the right place to post this but I have a three man team and am taking them to a tournament in Brownwood. I posted it on the actuall "need a player" thread but it doesnt seem to work that well so i went here.

I am saying all this as an urgent plea to gain assisstance. Even if you dont live in or around Abilene we could still use your help but you must be able to travel. I have been a while now without people to play with and it gets really dispairing to know that i cant play because i dont have enough people. Please and Thank you to all that come to my aid.

Post some fliers at the colleges there, that will probably help. I know some guys down there at ACU. I'll let them know that you're trying to open a field. They should have their guns down there. They'll probably be interested in playing, I wouldn't say that they're amazing players, more rec ballers than anything, but every person helps I suppose.

I might be going down there sometime in November. I'll let you know if I do.

Well, I wouldn't play there every weekend since I live up in Amarillo...but I would definitely have a team to bring with me for tournaments if you held any. I know some guys from El Paso that would probably make it for tournaments as well.

i would advertise at dyess too...that would be your biggest draw....

I would also try and get in touch with the local frats and see if they wanna throw any kind of events that might help you advertise as well

Honestly, after growing up in Abilene, and playing ball there for 5 or so years i don't think it would be the best business venture. From playing at spinnerz when they first opened, to playing/working at Paintball Magic, if anyone could of kept a field going it would of been PBmagic. Of course ive been out of Abilene for 5yrs maybe the scene has changed.

Bwood, of all places has managed to keep a field for awhile. When i pcs'd from hawaii to Ft. Hood id make the drive down to bwood every weekend. His tourney in november should be pretty good.

I wouldn't be there every weekend yet if you have decent land to play on with good fields (xball or NPPL) and competitive prices then I know myself my team and other teams from the Lubbock area would love to travel for team practices.. but it would have to take good fields on good grounds with good prices to draw the players and unless the paintball scene in Abilene is a decent size, it probably not be of best interests for you to try and start a field...if you do though good luck and hope it goes well for you

I've been wondering if Abilene would be able to support a field for awhile also. I figure it will because both Brownwood and San Angelo have fields and they are smaller than us. I would be willing to help you out with some work and maybe supplies depending on what you need, just so I don't have to drive an hour and a half to play.

You won't just be able to cater to tourney players, rec players is where the money to keep you going is at. West Texas doesn't really support too many serious tourney players. I would say, try and get a few fields, Abilene has better areas for woodsball than Lubbock, so I imagine that you could have some pretty sweet field layouts there.
