Byron Leftwitch should never play again.

After seeing his poor performance today, over throwing people left and right. Making bad play calls, not knowing audibles, busting plays like crazy, not seeing the blitz, and just not being smart. I don't know why they would put him in the 4th quarter of the game. To me that was a slap in the face to the Defense and Joey Harrington. On top of that the play calling was terrible as well. All in all I grew up in Atlanta watching the Falcons, and they are just like the Cardinals last year, just finding ways to lose. Anyone else a fan and hating this season?

EDIT: Nvm, just read that you grew up in Atlanta. I bet you wish Vick was back, huh?

I like Dallas. I never really liked Vick. He always put himself in bad situations when he ran the ball, never being smart. The only thing I wished, he would have told the Falcons he was actually guilty, so they could have gotten a QB without such a rush and had him for the Camp.

Why would they want another Vick? Sorry if I am way off base by saying this, I dont get too many Florida games here in SoCal. But isnt Tebow running the ball more than he should be as it is? Isnt that hurting his team? These are all serious question.. Im not being an a**

You can't judge leftwich too much. He just came into this system and probably still doesn't have much of a clue of whats going on. He hasn't had time to work on his timing with the receivers and study his playbook as much as the other QBs in the league.

Exactly what I was thinking, but the coach put him in there, mistake one. Timing has nothing to do though with overthrowing someone by 10 yards. He threw two almost in the stands. He even missed someone wide open in the end zone. Any QB in the league could have completed that pass. His pass technique is just ugly, he throws like a pitcher.

Im a Falcons fan
this season blows
I personally like leftwich, he just needs to get back in the swing of being a pro quarterback, bobby pete shouldve known better then to throw him in that game woth like 5 mins left when hasnt played in a game with the falcons yet, they needed that win and that was a horrible decision by the coaching staff...i wouldnt go as far as to say he shouldnt play again, because i think he can be way better than joey harrington, but he still does need some more time

You do understand he's been on the team for a very short amount of time, right?

He still shouldn't be throwing balls through the goal posts.

Do you know how to read? I also asked a question why would you put him in too. He obviously though the knew the plays, which he proved us wrong. He is just straight terrible. Overthrowing people is unacceptable, he is a QB, he does it for a living. He had one pass in the red zone actually to someone, all the others were horribly overt thrown.

everyone plays bad, deal with it, if its a constant problem after hes had a couple more weeks to adjust to his new recievers and the new system, then u can ***** and moan and make a thread on pbn, until then let him play and see wat happens

I do agree that Bobby Petrino should have never put him in. He hasn't been there long enough, and Joey Harrington hasn't been screwing up enough to be benched. But as far as his throws and what not, pressure can do alot to a person. Leftwich was trying to manage a team that was new to him. He wasn't comfortable and was throwing erratically. I'm not a Leftwich fan or a hater, but I think more time should be given before he is hated. It is clearly Bobby Petrino's fault for putting him in that situation, and I do think Harrington will still be the starter for the Falcons. Leftwich is clearly not ready.

I agree with it being a slap in the face of Joey Blue Skies. His play the last two weeks should have earned him the benefit of the doubt at least. He only hit his receiver in the hands who then proceeded to bobble it right into the hands of a Titan defender. Thats not on Joey, thats on Jenkins...? Or whatever ****ty Atlanta receiver it was...? Who cares, Jenkins, White, whatever, it wasnt on JBS.

Why would you take Joey out and put him in. Burn a timeout if you don't know the play. He busted several on not knowing how to check out of it. Most of the NFL QBs will easily waste a timeout instead of a 5 yard loss. I find it really hard to believe he needs to adjust to the receivers when they are wide open in the end zone just waiting for the ball. Overthrowing people? He could at least make a throw to there helmet level, unless you are Lenorad Pope and have a 5 foot vertical, no one was coming down with one of his 3 red zone attempts. So yes, I am going to ***** about his performance, you get paid to do it. I also was upset about T.O and his 4 dropped passes, you are getting millions to play football, do it.

I remember all the Falcons fans calling for Vick's head when all that **** went down. I just thought to myself "lol, you'll regret that".
