Eblade issue

So I just purchased a eblade autococker. I purchased it knowing it may not work properly. The guy I bought it from said it belong to his brother and the board needed to be reprogrammed? Not sure if that is correct, but when I put the battery in the frame the only thing that happens is the led screen turns on for a second and all it shows is four squares then turns off.

Any ideas on what the issue could be?

Most E1 boards do that when they are first powered up. Does the board turn on when you push and hold the center button, or is it completely dead after the initial flash on the LED?

Pull the board, and check closely for burned, or discolored components on both sides. If it's just a bad trace, or basic component, it should be a pretty easy fix. if it's more than that, it will most likely be easier, and cheaper to buy a replacement E1 board than to try and track down someone to reprogram it.

Looked over the board and nothing appears to look burnt or disocolored. But the trigger sensor has a crack down the center of it. So I'm going to assume that could be the cause?

The housing on the optical switch just holds the two components in place, so that isn't the issue directly. Your best bet is to replace the board at this point, because who knows what they did when they managed to break the housing.

I ended up getting one off of ebay after my last post. Was looking to get the zero b but the only one I found was priced at $210.00. Im sure i can find a complete e2 less then that. Hopefully everything else works fine after i get the board in.
