hey pat, i was really wondering how you filmed h4ad. ive never done or seen how people make documentary style films. like, i assume you used the same cameras you had for ck, but what kinda mics did you use? like shotgun, wireless, etc? and did you have lighting or just use available? did you have other people shooting or helping with audio and stuff? i know you miced rich during most of the games, but what about the team meetings and stuff? just wondering the process you used i guess

H4AD was shoot as low budget as it gets... most of the time it was just me, but I did get some help here and there. No budget for an audio guy (sorry John) and to be honest the extra body would of had an effect on the out come of the story, example the hotel room segment (shotgun mike). It was a run and gun kind of shot for two and half years. Hope that helps.

Hey if you ever need a hand don't be afraid to call or send me a PM. Can't go to the far off places but if you ever need the help, audio or camera, drop me a line. Heck with Blaze, myself, and maybe a few others we could do a couple different camera crews on the next one! (ala Hard Knocks/NFL Films, they have the doc Audio on lock. Great stuff.).

Vegas or Premier pro are usually good choices. If you're used to adobe products like photoshop, fireworks, illustrator, etc, then I'd go with premier, if you're more used to WMM then try vegas because it's more user friendly, but they're both top of the line programs.
