I know I get frustrated when I play pump when I cannot count on those that play around me. Pumpers V. Semi's need support of decently competent people. Look for those people and play pump with them - you will have fun again.

Semi-auto, fairly light, small, 10 round horizontal spring feed, and powered by a 12g. What's not to love?

The "semi-auto" part....
Seriously, you have your mind set on not playing pump, so why come in here, ask a pointless question you already know the answer to, tell us we're wrong when we offer advice, and waste our time?
Sorry if that's too straightforward for you, but that's how it is. If you don't want to play pump, don't ask us non-pump questions. Go to a semi / rec ball forum for that.

I think that's an easier thing to do rather than come to any rash decision soon.
Just gotta find some chill pumpers to hang with, because the ones I currently practice with (semi team practicing with snipers) are a holes.
For the person who said aim could be an issue,
I have been shooting some crappy paint lately, hell, I haven't shot anything better than 1 month old EVIL paint. I'm a discount baller . I guess I could give new paint a try.
Linuss, if I try all these other things and I still feel nasty inside, I'll hit the semi forums to find out what semi would make me feel fuzzy inside.
As of now, I have some stuff to try, but if you have more helpful ideas, let me know

Rather then spending alot on a semi, maybe try a vert feed phantom body and run it with a larger tank. If you want to get the sniper "feel" to your phantom without spending money on a new gun, get one of Wevos undercocking kits and use that with the open class setup. It will change your phantom around enough to make you able to spray a bit more paint , yet keep the gun you have grown to love with a facelift. It will also bring it up to a more competitive level IMO.

Tried. Didn't make it any better. When I try to spray I get shootdown.

I'd say go open class pump. Its a nice compromise between semi and all out stock class.

By that I meant a sniper, CA, and a loader/NOT stick feed. A phantom just doesnt make for a great open class marker due to the stiffness of the pump stroke in comparison with sheridan valve style markers.

if your tired of missing shots, not being able to get people with your pump, then TRY HARDER. seems like your taking the lazy way out instead of working harder to make your self that much better. Most of the time when I feel like im missing those shots that I could have gotten with a Semi, I get those urges to whip out my e-Lotus. But i dont, I stick with the phantom. try to play differently, try new tactics, but try not to be lazy about it and say "i cant hit anyone with a pump so im gonna quit and go semi" if your going to take that path, then like Linus said, there is no place for you here now. You fail young sky-walker.

The Invert Mini is about the same weight as a phantom. I would say that marker feels alot closer to a phantom then a Mag.

Honestly here's what you need to do. Do what ever you think would make you happy and have fun. If that means quit, then go ahead and do it, no one is going to come marching to your doorstep screaming at you. It's just paintball. Don't listen to whoever told you to "try harder." What the hell does that mean anyway? The simple fact is this, people play paintball because for them it is fun. I play with a pump because it is fun. If it's not fun anymore, honestly just walk away. If you think playing with a semi would give you more enjoyment, take that route, there's no shame in it. Honestly pump play isn't for everyone, it is hard, sometimes so hard that yeah you just gotta know when to throw in the towell. Do what ever you want to, that's my advice.

nah, I think the dude dragging him away from pump (refering to thread title...) might do that if he quits altogether.
i say, go semi if you want, but you just said your a budget baller, so if you are, then stay pump, and if your a budget baller who sucks at pump, quit.
sorry to be harsh but thats just what it boils down to.

I have seen you guys play, you and a couple of your friends, and I think the biggest issue is that you just havent given it enough time. One thing you also need to consider is going out and asking for pointers and stuff. There is no point in practicing if you are practicing the wrong way (ie. bad form, passive breakouts, etc.). When you see any of our guys, dont be afraid to ask for some pointers, they will always be willing to help. I am pretty sure any of the other teams that are out there at HSP like the guys from Flipped Out, LA Hitmen, Hard8/Splat Factory, are all more than willing to help teach some up and coming ballers. A lot of things you will learn from just playing, but some stuff doesnt come that easy, and it never hurts to ask. I would say I would come out and help you out, but I am injured, so I cant play .

Thanks Deagle. Really appreciate the support. (Although my phantom with the hopper and tank is still technically a much cooler open class gat ) I have thought of asking for pointers, but I guess it's just in my nature to be a bit too shy/proud when on the field. I always thought people harassed you guys for tips and I didn't want to be a part of that group.
I think I've made up my mind and I'm probably staying a pumper, and buying myself a classic mag when my birthday comes along.
I'll also save more cash and invest it in better paint. Anyone who balls it up at hollywood sports knows that the redballs and seconds suck. (...cue the Captain Obvious... )
Again, thanks for the help guys. Keep the ideas flowin, because somewhere on PBNation, someone is looking at this thread saying "I'm in the same boat."
