Updated. UConn is ranked higher than UMD b/c a) they have the same win loss record, b) same # of OT wins and c) UConn won in head to head d) I'm sick, cold and tired and I didn't feel like adding up the point margins.

Drexel should be 2-4 right?

Look at those scores! We have a really tough division this season. Good playing everyone so far.

Agreed....and what a surprise...there was another Penn State-UConn match that went into overtime.

Ken
I was surprised
At least it didn't go for 4 OTs this time.

Results updated.

PSU is ranked higher than UMD as they had an overtime loss (I counted wins as 2 points, losses as 0 and OT losses as 1 pt).

Raehl can correct me if I'm wrong.

An OT loss isn't any different than a regular loss in NCPA. It shouldn't be any different in PSP or NXL either, but they have not yet seen the light.

So how does our situation affect seeding into nationals?

Does point margin decide anything if the records are the same?

Alex, there were no overtime matches between Penn State and Maryland.

The only overtime match Maryland experienced was against Drexel, where we won 6-5 in overtime.

Penn State had an OT loss to UConn. That makes one of their losses worth 1 point. Anyway, according to Raehl, that's not how he does it anyway.

I know generally it's win/loss, head to head and point margin in some order but I don't know what order the NCPA uses.

Hm...you guys should figure that out because either UMD or PSU is going to have to play pre-lims and the other isn't. Or am I completely off on my thought process? PSU's point margin is +14 and UMD's is +2 and they are both have one win and one loss against each other. 1-1.

And on another note, the NEIC is a very talented conference with close margins (for the most part.) and I foresee another NEIC vs. NEIC final this year at Nationals.

Point Margins:
+27 UConn
+14 PSU
+9 Drexel
+2 UMD
-52 Rutgers

I think we're both going to have to play pre-lims anyways, UConn will be the only one with a buy (I think). I completely agree with the second part.
