VL makes an expansion chamber for use on their markers, as they are metric threaded, and are ususally reverse threaded as well. I haven't had my Orion apart lately to tell you which direction the threads go. Do you run HPA/LPA or CO2? If you use HPA/LPA, you WON'T want an expansion chamber. If you run CO2, do you also run remote? If you do, adding an expansion chamber won't help you, and it might actually hurt your marker's performance. The tube that runs from your ASA to the tank actually does the job of an expansion chamber, allowing for liquid CO2 to transform into gas. If you use your CO2 tank attached directly to your marker, only in this case would an expansion chamber help you. I run both my VL Orion, and my Spyder MR-1 on CO2 via a remote, so I feel I know what I'm talking about. "Halfblocking" as you say, is actually called "Halfbacking" and refers to taking part of the metal surrounding the back half of your bolt off of your marker. This can be dangerous, especially if you take off too much. This is a mod that is usually reserved for people that have access to metal milling equipment or people that can do the milling for them. Trying to do it with a Dremel (TM) tool is not always the best and/or safest way to do the job. If you don't know what it is, or what it's for, don't try it yourself... Do a little research, and then ask some experts. Find someone that works in a machine shop, or an automotive shop that has some expertise shaping metal, and let them give you the read scoop on what you can/can't do for yourself.

This is a webpage you need to get familer with...
http://www.viewloaderparts.com/index...tegoryID=14 8

Though don't go with the grip frame on that page if you want an e-grip (unless you want to experiment with upgrading circuit boards, the board on this frame is rather slow), this one is better...
http://www.viewloaderparts.com/index...categoryID=200
Looks the same, but has a much higer max rate of fire.

Not a direct bolt on. It will need some modification to work. Of course, if you WANT to tinker with it then you're fine, but always remember when putting a part from one type of gun onto another type of gun there's no guarentee that it will work in the end. But then again, that's half the fun.

Or else you could modify the VL e-grip to accept the Spyder board. That way you won't have to worry about drilling/tapping for the Spyder frame to fit. Personally, I'd go that route- I myself would sooner deal with frame modification than drilling/tapping for a different frame to fit (somewhat larger margin of error).

Good luck on the project.

The BT4 e-grip mounts very similar to a Tippmann A5 e-grip. It wraps around the body and is held in by two horizontal pins, instead of the two vertical screws on the stock orion grip. Adapting that would be considerably harder (though as a side note, might be easier on a Raptor...I now have something to check the next time I'm at the local shop ).
