Alex getting it out isn't the part you need to worry about. You see those two tabs on the feed neck? Getting those back in straight is the hard part.

Dude, he said how, read.

Also, when I did it with the crowbar, it came straight up, and I had to use the vice to press it back in, so I don't think its loose.

A better alternative to the crowbar would be to use a gear puller. It will pull it directly upwards.

Personally, I would leave the neck in the body, and do all the cutting with a hacksaw, dremel, and files. I mean, you are doing all those cuts by hand anyway, is there any real need to take the neck OUT of the body to do that? I could see the point in doing it if you were going to put the neck on a lathe to trim it down, but manually, I would just work with it in the body.

not the way i would have done in (throw body in lathe and turn the feedneck down to the same specs as an ego)

you should have put something on the jaws of the vise to avoid the marks, and yeah a gear pulley like the other guy said

You could save yourself alot of work. Don't use an Ego neck. Use a Trinity T-lock. It is already the proper diameter for a cocker neck, so you don't have to make the neck any smaller in circumference. Then you just make one cut with a hacksaw to shorten the neck down, and you have this:

The Ego neck will be a little slimmer, since you are decreasing the diameter of the neck. You also can't say you have a "Ego feednecked autococker". However, this only takes 1 cut, and you really can't screw it up.

Mine has no notches inside the body...

Maybe this is something new with the newer bodies?

if i end up buying a cocker as a 2nd gun(cause one gun jsut isnt enough ) i think ill try just sanding it down, unless system X cocker's feedneck threads are threaded and not press fitted, although im pretty sure they're pressed.
on my system xonik it has a threaded feedneck i have a redz clamping one and it works great

www.trinitypaintball.com. You want the Trilogy/Pre-'05 cocker T-lock. The also make a "Cocker/Intimidator" T-lock, but it is for threaded necks.

Weird. I just checked their site, and the page for the pre-05's isn't working. All the other T-lock pages work, but not that one.

The type me and eclipse06 have don't have threads, they're just a feedneck, non-adjusting, feedneck, so the Ego feedneck mod is a big upgrade.

I think it can be easily taken out using the drilled hole like leed suggested, but instead of twisting it, we could go to car workshop and make use of their engine lifter (i dunno what its called) the one that we pull chain to slowly lift heavy stuff..

Q: is there any aftermarket press fit feedneck that can replace that broken one? I need one that match halo/vloader. I dont mind pulling one out coz I hate to sand my vloader (need to use with my other gun)

Send your gun in to get it properly fitted.

Oh yeah, and the crowbar method worked fine. I don't know why everybody thinks I did that step the wrong way, it was the smoothest part of this project.

sorry to bring it back, but it has been deemed that the correct method is via crowbar? would it be a bad thing for me to leave my frontblock on there and all?
also, best way to cut the neck down is hacksaw then files?

Trilogy Pro, you can tell by the built in front block, teardrops on back, and chrome color.

I got the dimensions of the ego feedneck on the body where the ego clamping feedneck would go. These are the dimensions of what you need to cut the cocker feedneck down to in order to fit the ego feedneck This also includes a groove for the o-ring to help keep the feedneck in place. I have not cut my feedneck down to this but I will as soon as I get the chance to go home from school and use the lathe at home. I think the thread about this in the voided warranty forum, a guy said that the 05 ego feedneck opening is .93 inches in diameter which means it will fit these measurements and allow it to tightened down on the feed neck nub on the cocker.

Thank you for dmansr25sd for these dimensions. You can find his and my drawings of ego's and cockers in the CAD forum.

This is the nub dimensions where the feedneck would fit on an 05 ego.

its .9" in diameter .42" deep
The groove for the o-ring(optional) .06" wide, .05" deep, offset from the top .05"

for a better look i would suggest depending on the body milling a little flat circular recess into the body so the feedneck is tighter to it and sticks up less, the last one i saw was way high up, unfortunatly then you might loose the structural integrity needed.

I did a CAD drawing for you guys. Sorry if the image is big but it helps you see it in more detail(IT IS IN INCHES!)

here is what it looks like with the cocker in full picture

I hope this helps some of you guys out!
