Sounds like you have no idea what you are doing. I'd leave it alone because you'll most likely endup ruining the part and probably making something that could be dangerous if done the wrong way. Maybe dangerous is the wrong word but it probably wouldn't work right and you would hurt the gun, or yourself. What kind of LPR is it btw?
I'm actually terrible interested in the result. It should not interfere with the operations as long as you favor the top of the reg when you drill it.
I didn't know what I was doing
When I lift my head
And when I opened my eyes
I knew I was dead
After that first step
I knew I would fall
After that first breath
Was the end of it all.
The cap is quite thick so you should be able to drill and tap from the end. I've got an LPR like that but have not had it apart yet. Taking it apar would be your first step in any event. There's no way you want to drill and tap it while it's together because of the chips that would get in there. Once it's apart a lot of your questions would answer themselves.
I just thought I'd take a quick peek and then the world went all yellow.....
you can unscrew that end cap that the barb is on just fine, it's not holding any parts together or anything like that, then after you've done that all you have to do is plug the 10-32 hole and tap the flat side for 1/8 NPT. It's easily do-able as long as you have a 10-32 plug.
