Back to Piranhas- Anything New?

I've had an urge for quite a while now to pick up another Piranha. I (regrettably) sold my 04 SRT in early 2006 and I'm going to pick up another Piranha hopefully soon.

I have an idea of what I want already (got big into woodsball again so I'm thinking the gunmetal/olive GTI eForce, 2K5 or 2K6, I can't remember which it was), but I'm wondering if there are any new mods and aftermarket parts since early 2006 that are not mentioned in the stickies.
Any insight would be appreciated.

I'm siding with the standard eForce frames for the burst and full-auto modes. Simplicity is kind with me- for my woodsball I actually prefer high-pressure and a gas-thru to keep things simple and running smoothly. I pretty much know what specific Piranha I want.

I'm not really looking for marker suggestions. I'm just wondering if there are any new aftermarket parts and mods since I sold my last Piranha.

The olive GTI would be a nice way to go. Add a Boss bolt to slightly reduce the moving mass and cut down the "kick" a bit and call it good.

YMMV but I've found that Archon hoppers feed really nicely with these blowback fishies. There's just enough of a kick to agitate the hopper and that trough in them feeds really well. No batteries required. When you get down to the last 20 to 30 balls you need to keep it upright or shake it a little but that's the only downside to this combo.

Thanks for the info. The Boss bolt is on my list of parts to pick up. I have a number of electronic hoppers that will suffice, but I might try one of those hoppers out for rainy occasions or if I ever run out of batteries.

Side question: What threads are Piranha feednecks?

Only the EVO has a screw in feedneck. The others are aluminium brazed in place. If you need a clamping neck then it's either some serious machining and threading to take a screw in neck or just drill some holes and saw some cut lines into the stock neck and use a hose clamp. Or if you're handy you can come up with something in between these two opposites.

The EXT, SRT and 2007 GTI are all screw in necks as well. The 2006 GTI that you are looking at is brazed in.

Thanks for that info. I remember asking before about my SRT a long while ago and was told it was threaded...

I use a variety of e-hoppers (depending on the application), so a clamping feedneck would much benefit me. I may end up selecting a different model just for the threaded feedneck feature. The buddy I sold my SRT to is thinking about selling it, so maybe I'll buy it back from him.
I guess I'll have to keep looking- a threaded feedneck would be of too much benefit (for my applications) to not have.

You might as well get the cadillac of multi-mode e-framed Piranhas, the Pro-E. BTW, the Evo runs great with a high-pressure tank and a remote line. The marker's 300psi operating pressure isn't affected at all by the tank's output pressure, except that you get more shots per fill.

I work on a fair number markers through my local proshop, so I already know a decent bit about air systems. I was just curious if there were any new exclusive upgrades since I left the Piranha scene in early '06.

I'll look into the Pro-E. Thanks for the tip.

I just snagged my buddy's SRT (the same one I sold him in '06), and I'm going to work with that.
What thread pattern is the feedneck? Angel thread?

Thanks. SRTs have the same thread, so I ordered a feedneck for it yesterday.
It seems like the general Piranha upgrades have not changed much since I sold my last one, so it should be a snap to figure out what upgrades I'm going to purchase.

Thanks for all the responses. Much appreciated.
