I just upgraded to a Trilly pro SF YEAH BABY!! And am lookin' to butcher my old purple spyder shutter. I wanna half block it but have never even heard of it being done till like yesterday....(i've been outta the game for a while) Does anybody have a pic of one they've done or have seen done so i can get some ideas??? Thanksss

half blocking is actualy removing 1 of the 2 blocks on a cocker. so, you can keep calling it what you will, but you'll never hear the end of it.

as for pics, just take a look in the spyder forums, or even the last few pages here and you'll be sure to see many

not really. half blocking is for cockers. half backing is for other guns. it was called half blocking, because it eliminates the back block on a cocker. half backing, is becasue you take some of the back off. that is correct, you are jsut confused.

eww, trilly pro SF, i've heard so many bad things about the SF frame i wont even start.

just get a hacksaw, and some files, start a couple inches back form the feedneck, cut down the depth of the top tube, and then cut stright back. that's about all you have to do

i dont undersand why people do this to spyders. there is no real advantage for doing it. spyders are already pretty light and if you want a top cocking gun itd be easier to just slot the top.

umm you should just sell the spyder and trilogy instead of hacking it and buy a better gun with the money,
a jump from a spyder to trilogy isnt really a "upgrade"
and its called halfbacking, halfblocking is only with cockers

if thats the case, im now calling spyders autocockers, since you can half block them

its a name of something, its not like tomato, tomato patato, potato. what you're saying is that you can change the name of something and we're suposed to believe you.

And yes if you had an electro spyder you just downgraded my friend. If not then just cut the hell out of the back of the body on your spyder. simple enough right?

Oh and yes its halfBACKING on a spyder. HalfBLOCKING is on a cocker.

why are there so mant threads on halfbacking a spyder. so many questions,wow.
its soooooo simple,you cut a spyders back to
a.lighten it slightly
b.add somedesign and make it custom
leave an inch from the feedneck to keep airflow consistant so it doesnt leak.
come on guys its not rocket science.

It wasn't really a question...more of a tactic to get people to send me pictures of the "HALF BACKING" they've done on thier spyders to give me some ideas on where to go with mine. And by people send me pictures keeps me from having to scan the entire PBNATION for a few pictures of uncommon gun work.

Maybe we just got started on the wrong foot. Hi my name is Matt. I'm a 23 year old SSgt in the Air Force. Paintball is less than a part time hobby for me. I've only played once in the last 2 years. Hard to play in Iraq. I apologize if I offended you by calling this whole process "Half Blocking". Like I stated before I only heard of it like 2 days ago.
