FCS didn't film last year and won't film next year either. We've had the same production company film the show the past three years.

What in tarnation is a Busch League School?

Speaking of maturity, name calling is really mature. I swear.

Crazypiratx- I have told people before you, and I am sure will tell plenty more as others in this forum know. Deimus is just that way. Pretty much 90% of the time on here he is. In person, I hear, he is a cool cat(cue pic from Deimus), and in my book he is chill. He has also contributed a fair share to this forum in a constructive manner. But, he goes about it his own way. So, when someone new comes in and they don't understand him and posts like yours are put up about him, he is pretty much gonna let off on them.

To stay on topic. AA shouldn't be in the DVD, the points before illustrate why. More A highlight reels would be good. Sort of like Derder, MWAG, etc. fashion.

then how do you explain this:

If the same company has been filming it for 3 years, shouldn't they know what they're doing?

Same company does not mean it's the same camera guys. We weren't very pleased with the camera work last year, but with NASCAR not in town the same weekend we managed to get our hands on some other talent.

We don't have the budget to be flying in the same crew from year to year. And of course, people just move around naturally.

Anyway, it's not that we don't know what shots are needed, it's just getting the guys on the field used to the paint flying around, the timing of moves, and getting in the right spots at the right time. It's a little more involved than just 'stand here, shoot here'.

Maybe it would be worth considering to hire someone from DerDer or one of those other paintball dvds to train the cameramen before the shooting begins?

It's not a lack of instruction; it's a lack of experience. There's no substitute for experience.

Regardless training or no training, I don't think DerDer is in the business of doing free work, by that I am saying that the NCPA works on a limited budget, and paying somebody else might not happen. Plus why would DerDer teain somebody on something they could do, and get paid for themselves?

Because they would get paid for their expert instruction.

First off I did not know I spelled "Train" so badly, but my thought was the NCPA was working with a thin budget, that adding more to the filmimg cost, was not a option?? could have been wrong

You could very well be correct, I was just throwing out an idea that I thought might help remedy this problem.

Well I do agree, that would be a great remedy, I wonder if DerDer or another company would do it, I see it as only helping the sport.

Maybe have them come out a day early and play some of the early class a matches on the tv field so they can get over the hump of knowing what to tape before they actually are taping for what will go into the dvd. if they figured it out by midway through the second game, having them do an extra game or so should just about cover the learning curve. i don't know how much more money this would cost however.

i agree with that idea. it doesnt even have to be an official match that will be broadcast; could be just a few test-games with random teams. this way, letting them test their equipment and capturing methods in a harmless, consequence-free environment will make them more confident about their service.

I love how some people assume that the NCPA and Chris can magically make huge DVD collections of nationals because they can. Fact is it cost money, money to pay the film crews, the cameras, the film, editors, everything. If you want to watch yourself play terrible in class AA do what Demius said and get your own film crew and make your own DVD. We did it in 2005 and made a great DVD of nothing but PSU, but almost everyone on the team bought a copy of the nationals dvd because it helps support the NCPA.

For the most part the filming crews arent going to waste time and film on some random 5man games when they almost ran out of film for the finals match. So go look in the mirror some more with you paintball gear and take pictures to make yourself feel better.
