qft! don't try to dye a lense unless your prepared to lose your eyesight... if anything, contact the people who make/made your lense and ask them if they think it would be safe, or how they would change the color of the lenses

just make sure you have 2 lenses and dye only one of them. then after you dye one test it from deff ranges and make sure you chrono the gun at 300. then make sure iit doesnt crack. and dont just shoot it once. shoot it multiple times.

I would never do any modding to something that is protecting my eyes. If you are wanting a red lense, either call about one or look into some window tint. Either of those ways would be a bunch better for your safety.

no, 300 is too low. if someone shot you hot it could shatter. I'd say grab a tippy and chrono it as high as the sucker will go and shoot it at LEAST 10 times to see if there's any damage. ( ithink lense's are rated at over 400fps)

then you can throw away that lense, get another one and dye it knowing that your test lense didn't suffer from damage XP

I think V-Force tests their lenses at 380 FPS with a rubber ball.

I tinted my lens black. I like it, it's not hard either. Just go somewhere that has tint and they'll probably go cut you off some for free. I got about a 10x1 foot piece for free. It was black, but it still looks good.

alright people you know how when you leave your gogs in your gearbag w/o ckeaning them and sometimes the lense ends up slightly dyed and no matter how much you try you cant get it off? same thing its not hurting the structural integrity of the lense by simply dying it... i really wish people would think the ideas through before just saying no and putting it off as an impossibility.

well thats not actual dye... its just paint getting into the "pores" of the goggles... actually dying your lense could affect the structural integrity of them and its always better to be safe then sorry

make sure when you test the lenses that you throw away the one you tested with... shoot it pointblank at the end with 350 or so and see if it breaks

When you dye your lense, you will have to heat up your lense, which could cause damage to it.

The difference is this: Dyes have more chemicals than paint, and some chemicals we don't know about. We know that paint isn't going to harm the lens as much as dye, as the lenses are designed for being hit with paint/splattered by paint without long term damage. Even with that in mind, I personally have never gotten a lens stained unless it is really old. Manufacturers suggest changing your lenses every two years (this way if you get shot with a 3 year old lens, you can't sue) and throwing away the old lens to prevent use and possible injury. With that in mind, although the Dye itself may not damage the lens, the temperature itself that you will have to raise the dye and lens to for the polycarbonate to accept the dye will be high and will for sure weaken the rigidity of the lens.

Bro, lenses are the single most important part of paintball. Your gun explodes? Fine. Your tank explodes??

Ok, lenses are the second most important part of paintball. You should not **** with the one thing that makes this sport safer than bowling.

IT'S SAFER THAN BOWLING FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!
