Another Carved Up Tippmann
2 days ago:

Tonight:
The paint is just half the battle. I did all the milling over a year ago, originally got the gun in the fall of '05, milled it up in the late winter of '06, then sold it that spring, bought it back a few months ago for less than I sold it for, gave it that clown paint job, but then decided to finalize things. The last piece to get added will be 10 round SC tubes fed directly, for now I'm just gonna have to run the hopper, so I painted it to match. Feedback is welcomed.

I wanna post mine but i dont wanna jack your thread.
Anyway, milling looks pretty flawless, really nice paintjob, I'm not feeling the grips though, they dont line up well with the gun.

Lol those grips were free, actually the one on the other side is from a spyder compact 2000, I couldn't find a match for either. Its like lost socks. I'm not the best laydown player, I was just holding the right side of our open scenario field, not in much danger of getting hit.
The paint came out great. I used actual 'camouflage' spraypaint made by rustoleum or krylon, one of the major brands. first a few coats of grey auto primer. Then I used fern leaves to make the pattern silhouettes and just sprayed on colors accordingly. Finished it off with 3 coats of spray on polyurethane, a day in the sun of curing and now it is solid.

Consider yourself banned from ion owners
Compared to a stock set of 98c recievers, these ones have been extensively milled, probably about half the material has been removed. The sight rail is gone, linkage arm exposed. The metal running from the vertical foregrip to right in front of the trigger has all been milled down, letters have been removed from under the grips, the 'ridges' on the metal portion of the foregrip are gone etc.

How did you do the paint job? Will it come off easily on something rough? I'd like to do something like that but make sure it sticks... Nice woods gun, can you paint the barrel too?
