Start off with reading the stickies. While they're aimed at Colleges more so than high schools, most of the information is still relevant.

Well, I started the Rogers High School paintball team in Rogers, Arkansas. It took about 2 months to get it approved, but IT WAS WORTH IT. What we did was, we spent about 2 weeks putting together a detailed powerpoint presentation about the sport and our goals as a team. We did everything we could possibly think of. We looked up injury statistics (that's a big plus), physical benefits of the sport, and stuff like that. We explained how the sport is played, the history, everything. And now, our school gives us money for paint, sometimes entry fees, and we might be getting our own field soon to practice on! If you approach it the right way and provide all the right information and make sure you tell them everything they need to know, you can do it.
