spimmy dragun question

ok ive been looking at bodys to make a spimmy out of. would a dragun body work? i ask because there all top cocking and look better then a pilot body. also i believe they already have the whole that you need to drill for the barb!

please correct me if i am wrong about the hole being there for the barb.

if you use a dragon body then arent you just building a timmy?

just mill a spyder body to your liking

or are you building a spimmy with spyder parts?

Just use a pilot and mill it. There is so much to do to it.

almost any spyder clone body will work. as long as stock spyder parts will fit into the dragun then you should be able to do it.

however the safest thing to do is to use a spyder pilot or fenix body. you can easily half-back them with a dremil or saw or if you have the use of fancy milling machines and such then you can do even more.

not dragon dragun its a spyder clone

yes you can use it no problem, keep in mind they are only milled for bounce-beam eyes and that break-breams will require some body milling

some arent even milled for bounce. he has to cut the body anyway.

thanks guys, my problem lies in the drilling. i dont have a drill press or have access to one. i do have some bits to a power drill but i have only drilled through pvc with that, will that drill through the body? also to any body who does or has owned a dragun, does it have the barb hole predrilled?

no it doesnt have the hole for the barb. You'd have to drill and tap it.
yes, you can use a dragun body for the spimmy project. there's quite a few of them that have been done.
I'd go with a tes or t-1 body personally. not just because they are already predrilled for a bouncebeam eye, but also because a lot of the older BlackDragun bodies were rear cocking. They also look better.
