you cna buy those at a hobby shop for cheap, then couldnt you run copper wire to a 9volt and just tap it on the 9volt and it would ignite the tip?

the research i did on liquid rocket engines said that most homemade ones overheat the bottom cone which sends the rockets in all directions. thats why CO2 is necesary for my design of my rocket. because its liquid rocket fuel. thats my design. yours is probly differant

could you put some flash powder in the top tube of the rocket? so when it did the rocket engine did the little puff thing to launch the parachute it would blow up in a nice boom?

If I were you I would look into the V2 rocket design as inspiration. My rocket is solid fuel with a clay nozzle so I don't have to worry about heat. What you read was probably not that the heat itself just that the nozzle melts. Also if you cool down the gases they produce less thrust from the lesser volume.

I would like to but mine is not going to have a chute. I am desgning mine mostly for thrust so in theory I could put a small payload on them.

It was only a single stage rocket and how did you blow it up? Did you glue the nose cone on?

I used to love model rocketry

to the guy with the CO2 cooled rocket: you know you need some sort of permit (I forget which kind, but I'm pretty sure its not easy to get) to have metal parts on the rocket right? you probably already know, but I just don't want to see anyone get arrested

yep, I'll see if I can find a source, hold on.

EDIT - I looked but I couldn't really find much, so you might want to check for yourself. But I heard first-hand from a professor at Michigan Tech University that you need some sort of high level permit to use metal parts.

i'm sure theres some better places though.
