There's nothing wrong with any kind of protection that you use on the field. I don't use one, but there's nothing wrong with people that do. Some people use bandanas, so you could try that if you want.

Well if you count sliders under your jersey protection thats all I wear... but some people think its kind of nooby to wear a neck protector... but if its comfertable for you by all means. Its all personal preference.

You will now be flamed by a hoard of mindless idiots, cuz they don't think its "agg".

My friend wears a neck protector all the time. I personally have no problem with people who choose to protect their body in any way, shape, or form. Do what you feel necessary.

Don't be suprised if you see those posts. They're just people trying to gain acceptance by walking on others.

eventually, once more people discover this thread, thats what you will hear.

but if you want to protect your neck, by all means, do it.

i have a neck protector but it was to big for me, and the neoprene chaffed my neck, which is where a bandana would be a good idea.

Where do you play ?

I find neck guards restricting, but I've only worn one a couple of times so maybe it's something that takes getting used to.

most people who use the harness with the co2 tank in the back play woodsball or scenario games. to me it looks like a pain in the @$$ to have on your back thus pulling down your pants or w/e. just seems like too much weight

i dont think it will be good for speedball at all. unless you like having to pull up your pod pack and pants every 3 seconds. just my thoughts.

I dont see the remote line doing well with all the dives either. You cant use the tank to steady your aim as well which is a pretty big downside.

Here's my 2 cents.

Neck Protector: Personally, I think it's up to you. I look at it this way: once you get used to it and get shot a few times there, you will be glad you wear it. But if you lose it or forget one day, it would affect your game due to you feeling "naked" in the neck. So think before you make it a habit. I have a friend who is super sensitive in the neck (you touch it, he will get really upset), go figure, but I don't lose any respect for him because he wears one. Again, it's up to you. If people tell you to man up about the neck, tell them to lose their gloves or the kneepads--it's the exactly same idea except that your neck is probably more important to protect than your knees in terms of being a sensitive area.

Pod Pack with Tank Holder: If you play speedball, you will not like this much. Makes it hard to switch hands to shoot. It gets in the way when you dive or turn suddenly. It's heavy on your back and, as said before, drags your pants down. If you play long scenarios, then maybe it would be a good idea. In my opinion, it doesn't hurt to have it there but chances are you will never use it.
