Why are you hailing mary/your fathers? If you want to thank God, thank HIM! What's hard about that?

The Hail Mary and the Our Father are both prayers that can be found in the Bible. And the Our Father is referring to God the Father not "Your Fathers". When Jesus was asked how one should pray, the prayer of the Our Father was Christ's response. So he is thanking God and praying to him, specifically in the way Jesus told us to. Just wanted to clear that up because you seemed confused.

Religion should be personal, it should be something you feel a personal connection with. If you're going to thank God, no matter what form of theism you believe in, thank God by whatever feels most natural to you. Not what a bunch of schmucks on an internet forum say. Think for yourself.

Sure there is. I have a feeling this might be a flame as far as corruption goes, but this site does address such issues as the priestly scandal, dissent from within, the crusades, the schism with the orthodox church, etc. You can also go on their open forums and search for something specific you have in mind. There are actually a lot of atheists on there and threads by them, though they are usually respectful. Or you can check out their Ask A Apologist forum if you have a question. Here are a few articles I pulled up for you on 'corruption', though that term is very broad and you might be referring to something else.

A Crisis of Saints; Description: Scandals are rocking Catholics in this country. Anti-Catholic rhetoric is at a fever pitch – indeed, maybe your own faith has been shaken. How should we respond to the horrific headlines? There's only one authentic Catholic response.
http://www.catholic.com/thisrock/2002/0205fea1.asp

The "Gay" Priest Solution; Description: A modest proposal to solve the "gay" priest problem.
http://www.catholic.com/thisrock/2004/0405fr.asp

You Be the Judge; Description: Book review of Cornwell’s book, Hitler’s Pope.
http://www.catholic.com/thisrock/2001/0101fea1sb.asp

Q&A: Understanding the Priest Scandal; Description: There has been much misunderstanding and obfuscation regarding the priestly sex abuse disaster that unraveled this year. Here's a clear look at the issues.

If you look at the post under you, you will understand. This was not an insult, there have been corruption in the catholic church. I can't confirm there is now, but in older days, yes.

you quoted the wrong part then blitz :/

lets attempt to get back on subject now.

you should try volunteering at like the red cross serving food to the homeless or somthing.
humbling yourself to serve others, i believe, is a great way to serve God, make sure to tell others about Jesus (or God, im not sure if Catholics believe Jesus was the Son of God).
it's a great way to help others while serving God at the same time

Of course we do! You can't call yourself christian if you don't. We believe in the Trinity, same as you I assume.

Or you can just help/serve others without trying to force your beliefs down their throats everytime you feed/help them.

how was i forcing anything?
did you notice where i put "I believe" to try to avoid this exact happening?

and telling someone about Jesus isn't really forcing anything.

So you telling others to not force their beliefs can be construed as FORCING them not to, correct?

A difference from speaking of and forcing your beliefs should be established.

Force is defined as:
Quote:
#1 To compel through pressure or necessity: I forced myself to practice daily. He was forced to take a second job.
#2

1. To gain by the use of force or coercion: force a confession.
2. To move or effect against resistance or inertia: forced my foot into the shoe.
3. To inflict or impose relentlessly: He forced his ideas upon the group.

#3

1. To put undue strain on: She forced her voice despite being hoarse.
2. To increase or accelerate (a pace, for example) to the maximum.
3. To produce with effort and against one's will: force a laugh in spite of pain.
4. To use (language) with obvious lack of ease and naturalness.

#4

1. To move, open, or clear by force: forced our way through the crowd.
2. To break down or open by force: force a lock.

#5 To rape.
I doubt any of those fit.

Telling them once is fine. But these guys tell them over and over again. It is their real motive for feeding the poor. To spread the word of their religion. That is forcing ones beliefs.

you tell us over and over again that God and Jesus arn't real, and if we say They ARE real over and over again...
i honestly don't see a problem with that.

it's not like anyone is holding a gun to someones head and saying "be a Christian or i'm killing you."
