Well I for one am not truely swayed by this or that... It really depends on what you need out of the chip. If you plan on playing at most fields as a recreational player then you should need nothing more than the stock board.
This is stated primarily because most fields do not/will not allow other firing modes because of liabilities placed onto the field because of "firearm" ordinances in their insurance policies.
Any chip manufacturer will give you the options of Semi, PSP, NXL and offer adjustability to program those modes for CFOA or Millenium series events. With further bells and whistles of breakout modes and programmable filters to assist you with software tuning.
I own and have used Virtue, Hyperformance and Tadao on my Matrices, Timmy. I do not prefer one over the other, in terms of adjustability as it is all the same to me, as I only use 2 modes when playing... Semi and PSP mode. So just pick a manufacturer, which you feel would be best suited or you feel would offer the best customer service and install the software and enjoy playing the sport.

I say if you are a pulse owner and wish to use the rf, tadao. But if not, definately virtue. Oh, and tadao if you own a marq for the fact that it supports all 4 eyes.

I dont know why everyone hates on Virtue either. My team uses Virtue and likes the boards quite a bit. I had virtue in my Dark Timmy a while back, my team mate had the M7 in his Old DM6. Testing both boards I ended up going with the Virtue because I got it for $135 while the Tadao was $140+shipping. Also virtue has a longer warrenty, and since I had virtue laser eyes coming in I would finish it off with an entire virtue setup. Honestly most people will just say the board they are shooting right now is the best, but neither will make you a better player. Id get the cheapest and most accesible one.

I am a Tadao fan, my friend and I both have a Timmy, I have a Tadao in my gun and my buddy has a Virtue, I can not tell a difference between the two, except Virtue has an extra ramp firing mode.

Wow, virtue is like the ipod of boards. Everyone wants one because you see the pros that get paid to put that in their gun! OMG MUST HAVE! Virtue really isnt that good, the customer service sucks, and tadao just owns it. Tadao is much better, and yes I have had both boards.

Well I have used tadao boards on most of my guns and I have never had a problem with any of them. I have used virtue in a few guns also but I perfer tadao. Really in the end it comes down to what u like what modes u use. I don't have anything aganist virtue but I prefer tadao.

I would personally go with the virtue because the modes are adjustable and you can create your own modes...pretty much allowing you to have thousands of modes....tadao can only do 50% and 100% ramp so its not reall as ajustable. Otherwise these boards are sooo similar there really isn't a difference. hope this helped!!

I personally just got a virtue because the shop owner had one after previously having tadao. He owns like 4-5 trixes and the LCD type that I was upgrading as well, and he swore by them. He also blew me away with his ability to fix trixes. My main reason for getting the virtue over it is that the virtue is newer, lifetime warranty, and I can upgrade the virtue software without buying new chips(something you have to do with tadao, because the shop owner had a m5 and I'd have to spend like $30 to get a new chip with musashi 7). Being able to adjust the settings on the firing modes is awesome too. So my vote is virtue, though I still havn't gotten my gun back, I'll let you know how it goes.

I chose tadao because not as many people have them. Performance wise you're not going to see a difference, and tadao is far more unique. It also is very easy to adjust between modes and settings. I like how easy it is to turn the eyes off in a game (just incase you get stuck).

Why not just send the stock board to WAS and get their newest code for 25 bucks? Are you really going to see 100 plus dollars difference?

Virtue has shady business practices. The list of crappy things they have pulled is quite long. I'd go tadao, predator etc instead. Virtue makes a decent board, but I think they spend much more on advertising than quality control. The ones that work, work well...
The tadao and predator are every bit as good (better IMO) as the virtue and are put out by less shady companies.
