Old ICD Barrel threading.

I I have an older ICD Thundercat and I found a Powerlyte Sceptor kit for it. The one with the 6" inserts. I am curious as to (if any) what barrel front thread could work with the scepter back? It would be cool to put an apex an a scepter kit or something. I wasn't sure because I don't have a lot of barrels laying around to try it out.

I believe the only front are the scepter's own, 90 percent sure

I was worried about that. Thanks. That's pretty disappointing. Lol

i hear that, I saw a kit on eBay and told myself I have to have it, and last minute noticed it didn't have a front. Good luck though finding one!

I have the front. I was hoping that it would be comparable with a front that had an apex option. I would love nothing more than to take out my old ICD Thundercat with a Sceptor kit and apex tip. LOL

That would be sick! What if, hypothetically, you send it out to get rethreaded? I've seen and heard of it done

The biggest problem is the way that the front on a scepter kit is wedged (lack of a better word) into the insert. If you used just a normal front that was rethreaded, you wouldn't have a smooth barrel bore, since there would be a gap from the control bore, to the space where the front wedges in, to the back of the new front.

So I need to figure out a way to seat the scepter front into an apex tip.

Could be talking out my rear end, but don't they make apex tips that aren't threaded and just clamp to fronts? As in you were to leave a back, and front part of the barrel with an apex tip seated to the front?

Only one i know of that does that is for the DeadlyWind barrels and I have one already. It only works with a certain size outer diameter and it must be smooth. No shapes or anything like that. The Sceptor kit has a shaped tip so the clamping one would not sit correctly. I will look and see if there are others but using the existing tip would be near impossible because the object is to get it perfectly straight.
