Just like the manual says:
Fire the angel whilst rotating the snap ring screw clockwise until the angel ceases to fire, now rotate the snap ring screw counterclockwise 1/4 of a turn. Ensure the angel fires.

make sure when adjusting the snap ring.. the ram doesnt turn,, if it does, then you have to set the ram adjustment again...thats why the wdp tools come inhandy, but you can use a snap ring pliers to hold it, or anything else if you don`t have the right tools..

What does the snap-ring do? How would you be able to tell if it needs adjusting or not?

the snap ring holds the ram/hammer till enough pressure has built up in the ram to hit the valve with enough force to open it.

so if U turned counter clockwise it would let more pressure build up before the ram released?
