Buying a used NME...

So I just sold one of my eMags, and now I'm looking to replace it with an NME. I've never owned a System X before (except for some System X parts I had one a 'cocker) and I'm wondering what I need to know?

How much should I be paying?

Where's the best place to look for a used one?

Are there different years? What do they look like?

Are the easy to maintain (I have a shop, so I CAN maintain anything, j/w)?

What kind of setup do they like?

ebay and pbn are pretty much the only places to get them now; you would be paying in the 250-350 area from the last time i looked; there are different moddels the LE and the regular the le just had different milling and upgraded board BUT some regulars came with upgraded boards, also the earlier regular nme's had cocker threaded feednecks, the later ones and the LE's are impulse; they are easy to maintain but dont thrash it parts are hard to come by, works with hp or lp but i prefer lp and recomend it to people; and you pretty much have to have a force feed hopper to keep up

You want the LE. It's a lot lighter and balances a lot better. Since it feels better it's easier to shoot. Don't pay anything over $400 for it, and that's for a pretty nice one. They shoot absolutely awesome and you won't be disappointed. Don't worry about it not working or anything. As long as it's not damaged, we can fix anything on it. They're fairly easy to maintain.

I recommend that you buy an aftermarket reg, because the stock regs are a little finicky with HP HPA tanks. I love the way the CP reg feels and looks on the NME.

You can check ebay or the BST to buy one. Good luck, hopefully we'll be welcoming you into the family soon. LOL

I sold the xMag because I was getting a little bored with it, and I just finished making a Mini-eMag, so I had two... The stock xMag is fun, but I had it for a long while, and I need some change! I've always loved the look (and performance) of NMEs, and I figure I'll hang on to my custom eMag as a backup...

Anyway, does anybody have some pics of the differences between the LE and the standard? Is the LE cocker threaded?

P.S.
The Crossman 3357 ended up going for $120 and some trades ($50 giftcard to BostonPaintball, some custom-printed paint, and Tippy parts).

lol, cool.
i'd of done the trade but i couldn't bring my self to part with my minimag

all of your questions can be answered by reading the stickies, including "common questions with the NME & LE" and other ones aswell.

both are cocker barrel threaded, but most NME's and LE's are Impulse threaded FEEDNECKS. the oldest versions, like the 'lanche fads and stuff are all cocker feednecks

I have a regular NME not the LE, and think its still amazing, and very balanced.

if you want to save some $ i'd get the regular.

either way, tons of people don't know how to clean a paintball gun so your most likely going to get a gummed up worn marker. I wish you good luck.

So true... I had a guy come in last month complaining that he COULDN'T get his 98c to fire properly... Anyway, I cracked it open to find half a ZAP shell stuck inside his bolt

qhimq, if you think you like your regular NME, you'd go crazy if you used an LE. They balance a ton better, and they feel a thousand times nicer.

As for the gummed up guns, I hear ya. It's funny what a noob can do to a very nice gun. LOL
