Since they got bought by Empire the focus has been more on speedball style markers, apart from the Slice which is basically a redesigned BT-4. I'd heard they have a bunch of designs for woodsball markers based on the Mini internals but haven't bought any to market because they don't think they'll be profitable enough.

They'd need to do something pretty unique to break into the magfed market and I wouldn't buy it anyway because I'm not interested in limiting my ammo when most of the times I play it's against speedballers in the woods.

If they do test videos of an axe based magfed marker vs a dye dam it would promote sales. Sell it at $499

The problem with magfed is that they're already behind the curve. RAP4, Milsig, Dye etc all have markers out there and they've had a lot of time to iron out any issues. Sure pricing is always a factor but the new Milsig's start at $300 so there's not much going to beat that.

Not sure what Ben's status is. I'm sure he made out well enough from the sale to Empire that he's putting his feet up somewhere warm and sunny.

BT was never bought out by Empire because neither have ever been separate companies.
In fact, both of them are really nothing more than brands created by the same entity, National Paintball Supply, and later KEE Action Sports, to sell products under.
They've always shared the same staff, office space, and depending on the product, factories.
Same goes for Invert and Diablo.

The only difference is that in the last couple years, KEE has been trying to consolidate some of their made-up brands, so a lot of BT and JT gear is now being sold with the Empire logo on it.
