First thing that comes to my mind is, Is that an HP tank?? If it's HP, that might be the cause of your problems. Some regs just didn't agree with HP air tanks. It's stock, right??? If your buddy's reg works, then I would guess the tank is what's wrong.

the marker runs at about 80-90 right now.... normally it goes at about 70-80 and my dwell is unusually high. normally it is at 8 and now it's at 14

I don't know. This is pretty crazy. I guess you should try to swap out the o-rings and stuff and then lube it up. Maybe that'll help, maybe not.

You could always buy an aftermarket reg. It'd probably work a little better. I love the way the CP reg works and it feels better, too.

it is the reg pin seat the flat semi clear piece that seal with the reg pin or pin spring. higher psi can only enter the regulated area (reg piston and gun) thru that.

i had a problem similar to this. it may be the reg, but since the dwell is so high you may want to check the ram sleeve o-rings. i had my lpr up to 100, had the dwell bumped up and it just wasnt running at normal pressures. i tore it down and found that the ram sleeve can cause this problem. nobody ever mentions this issue when a velocity or pressure issues comes up, but i would never rule this out again.

should i replace that?

also, if i get a new reg, it's going to be a gladiator.... but i don't want to have to do it cuz i'd rather avoid the expense and fix this one

how tight should the brass fitting be in both the regs?
also, how do i tell that the regulator seat should be replaced.

i just an az relevation yesterday...
maybe it's not my reg that's screwing up.... maybe the seal around the poppet has become too tight from swollen o-rings...
any thoughts?

if you mean the cup seal, thats not possible, the matierial that the poppit sits against doesnt swell... the poppit oring could though, change it out see what happens.

check your ram sleeve o-rings for the 3rd time. if they arent chipped, then inspect all o-rings.

but he said it works fine when he puts his friend's reg on there, unless he hasn't tried that since the problem occurred and he's only talking about before the problem occurred. I don't know.

SEAL, if you have cool, nice a buddy with an NME, then start swapping out parts, one by one. Once you find the part that's giving you the problem, then we can tell you how to fix it. Remember to only use one of your buddy's parts at a time. That's the best way to figure out what's going on. I had 2 NMEs and I always swapped parts to check out what was wrong.

i just worked on it today. the reg MAY be an issue but probably for something you won't think. you know how the outer collet is adjustable? well the outlet of the collet and the inlet for the reg itself is severly off set. it i line i up, the macro fitting is at a 90* angle with the gun.

i haven't messed with the LPR yet

I'm trying to understand your collet issue. By inlet for the reg you mean outer the hole on the actual reg in between the two o-rings, if that's the case...those two o-rings are the problem. They make a seal so that the collet can be, well, adjustable. The position of the macro fitting doesn't matter since well.....the collet is adjustable. The only problem would be a leak from the orings that seal the outer reg and the inner collet. Did that make sense.....cuz it's confusing to me.

So you swapped out regs and the gun worked perfectly? It's an o-ring issue i'm sure of it.......or...........like VP says about it's delrin pistion.......maybe your piston has caused wear on the inside of the reg and....viola......your problem.
