Need Help W/ Excal!
Well, I just bought an excal (#198) from SenorFartman and I got some problems. I was well aware that the gun had this problem so no bad feelings toward the seller.
My friend who owns excal #114 told me that a guy named Dan could help me with this.
There is Air leaking out of the pneumatic Reg Vent hole (As described by the diagrams on Aka's online excal manual). I checked through the troubleshooting section and it says only to check the reg core o-rings which I did and they seem to be just fine. I got the gun to cycle and shoot, but there is a quite a bit of air leaking out of the hole. What is the fix.
The new guy on the block

Somebody named Dan? I've NEVER known anybody by the name of Dan to be worth anything. Every Dan I know is shifty-eyed and black-hearted. I think the name Dan is Greek or something for "Spawn of Satan". Never trust anyone named Dan!

Ignoring the above diatribe..... 4th vs 7th baaaaby!!
It sounds like you've popped the orings on the LPR. My guess is that he took the LPR out by screwing the adjuster all the way out until it turned the body. When he screwed it in he ran the adjuster all the way in. I've not seen anything that said he had a toolkit. Without the toolkit getting the LPR body in right can be a trick. Plus it can and will ruin the LPR.
I suggest you send it back to AKA. I seriously doubt that the LPR is even close to right. This can damage the solenoids. You need to have the orings replaced anyway. I also doubt this will be a warranty repair.

(If'n it ain't broke, don't fix it!!)

Talked to aka
I talked to a very helpule Tech at AKA, and he got me passed the oring problem and now the gun has no leaks. :-)
Now I have another problem. When gassed up, the gun sounds like it is shooting, but the hammer isnt cycling. When I take the bolt out and watch it, it doenst move at all, I have played with the pressure and Lpr, and that doesnt do it. Erin from AKA suggested a battery. I tesed the battery I have in it at 8.65 under load. Is that ok? Are there any other suggestions out there?

ok with the on/off switch facing your chest the tube on the right is the bolt ram
the tube on the left is the hammer. From what i take of your desription the bolt ram is not working?
reply and we can't get some answers going for you
first step is ALWAYS change the battery excals are very sensitive to batteries.

Thanks a million guys
We'll two dyas ago, I didnt kow anything about ecals. in the past day, i have totally disasembled the gun.
Yochinaman:
I called Aka and they told me how to get the lpr cartridge in without shredding the external o-rings, it involved taking off the sidewinder and guiding the cartridge in from below, tha eliminated me first problem, the leak!
My second problem was, either the battery or a dirty ram. Not absolutly sure. I tested the battery (under load) and it registered fine, but I changed it anyway. Then I removed the ram and it was very gunked up, I think that there was some grease on it, like shocker dow 33. Anyway............. I got it all back together, gassed it up, adjusted the LPR and the marker rocks!!
Thanks to all you guys who helped! I love my excal!
